Criticism likely to follow Obama on upcoming vacation

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption =" President Obama and his family go for a bike ride along Lobsterville beach on Martha's Vineyard in August 2009."](CNN) - President Obama and his family head to Martha's Vineyard on Friday for a weeklong vacation, but don't expect it to be without controversy.

It will be the president's second time on the island off the coast of Massachusetts. In 2009, Obama spent time golfing and hanging out with family and friends.

Vacations are often considered political low-hanging fruit: Zing a president or first lady anytime they go away for some rest and relaxation.

And, how many vacations did George Bush take during his
    two terms? 452 + days?

    Fairness, CNN, fairness

When President Obama has spent at least three months a year on vacation (like you-know-who did), THEN I want to hear Republicans complaining.

The President just doesn't get it. He seems to have no connection with Americans who are struggling to stay afloat. He continues to give the appearance of an entitleled elitist. Going to where the rich and famous play...good grief. Go to Disneyworld...

The Gov't is in the red, but he can go off an spend hundreds of thousand s of taxpayer dollars on a vacation when you add up all the costs. GWB has been criticized by the left for his vacations..most of his were to his ranch in Texas and where he actually worked.

This President continues to be a disappointment

What type of article is this? The headline says that Obama vacation draws criticism. The article then says that probably it will be criticized because they always are, but nothing has actually happened yet. What has happened to this "news" organization?!

President Obama and his family are entitled to vacation time just as anyone else. Let's not forget he doesn't take as many days as GWB who was the vacation king of the white house with 20% of his time on vacation.

    Call back congress from vacation.
Obama deserve vacation when nothing is going on in Washington and congress on vacation.
We all are enjoying summer vacation why not him.
All conservative and liberal anchors host who criticized him also take vacation.
    Stop this hypocrisy.

Hey, he doesn't do anything in the White House, so why not keep taking vacations, it's the taxpayers money, and that family sure knows how to spend it. On a serious thought, it is a shame that the American people do not realize what he is doing to our country, that is what saddens me.

I mean...he has been on so many vacation trips. I understand that his job is demanding, but at least keep the vacations private, because it sends a bad signal. One that makes him seem lavish when millions of Americans are suffering job losses and foreclosure.

Why are we criticizing this? Nothing is too good, too extravagant, or too politically incorrect for the tone-deaf and insensitive royal family!

Yes, the man with the highest pressure job on the entire planet should not be allowed to take a vacation or play a pick-up game of basketball or swim or do anything to relieve the tremendous stress he's under, but should just stay awake and at his desk 24/7 until he completely loses it and presses the bright red button that destroys us all. No doubt the nay-sayers will be rich, white republican congressmen and senators resting up on their 6 week vacations in Palm Beach or the Bahamas, or poor white folks who won't get off their asses and believe anything dripping out of lips of Sarah the Impaler.
