Palin to Dr. Laura: 'Don't retreat'

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption =" Sarah Palin is standing behind Dr. Laura Schlessinger."](CNN) - Embattled radio talk show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger, who earlier this week announced she was ending her radio show, is finding an ally in Sarah Palin.

A day after Schlessinger told CNN's Larry King she was ending her show amid controversy over her repeated use of the N-word during an on-air conversation, Palin tweeted, "don't retreat...reload!"

"Dr.Laura:don't retreat...reload! (Steps aside bc her 1st Amend.rights ceased 2exist thx 2activists trying 2silence"isn't American, not fair")" Palin wrote on Twitter Wednesday night.

"Dr.Laura=even more powerful & effective w/out the shackles, so watch out Constitutional obstructionists. And b thankful 4 her voice,America!," Palin added in a second tweet.

National furor erupted when Schlessinger used the N-word 11 times in five minutes during an August 10 call with an African-American woman who was seeking advice on how to deal with racist comments from her white husband's friends and relatives. The conversation evolved into a discussion on whether it's appropriate to use the word ever, with Schlessinger arguing it's used on HBO and by black comedians.

Schlessinger apologized the following day, saying, "I was attempting to make a philosophical point, and I articulated the N-word all the way out - more than one time. And that was wrong. I'll say it again - that was wrong."

While Schlessinger told King on Tuesday that she was still "regretful" over the incident, she said she feels her freedom of speech rights "have been usurped by angry, hateful groups who don't want to debate - they want to eliminate."

Freedom of Speech means the government can't punish you for what you say. It has nothing to do with private groups or individuals protesting against you because you said something offensive. This is not a difficult concept to understand...

Of course, whatt else would you want from a fellow racist. I don't think Dr. Laura is a teabugger though?

By all means, when people of this calibre and breeding are rushing towards the garbage disposal, one should urge them not to retreat.

No matter how clueless one thinks Sarah Palin is, she always manages to surprise .. so, go ahead Dr. Laura, reload with those n-bombs, and don't be afraid to show your special brand of ignorance right next to Sarah.

  6. Can't win with this bunch!

This is exactly the reason why republicans did not and can not win the presidency. You can't be this closed minded and win anything. No one wants to be a part of a cause that feels this way. Don't retreat... reload = do not learn from mistakes continue to make them. People who support this type of behavior probably make up about 20% of the country on the high end. So, good luck in 2012. Palin for President!!!!!

I'm not a fan of either of these women, but until blacks who use the term are treated the same as whites who use the term, we are practicing prejudice.

Why isn't the black athlete, or entertainer who uses the 'N" work criticized and driven to leave the public eye? We clearly have a double standard. That in itself is racism.

And, BTW, there are some who deserve the title. Recently, a local (black) produce seller I know of was robbed at gunpoint, by black youths. What better one-word way to say low-life, worthless piece-of-garbage scum who happens to be black than 'NIGGER'. Used in such a way, it is not prejudice; it is judgment. Where is the outrage in the black 'leadership' about these scum, who probably target inside the black community more than outside? Shouldn't that be the national discussion? And what about the entertainment industry that glamorizes these actions?

Such a sad soul Sarah is. It is frustrating to constantly read about her and her followers defining themselves as "Real Americans". Abusing the text of the constitution and all that it represents.

I bet if Dr. Laura were expressing her disgust with the overwhelming teenage pregnancy in America, which includes Sarah's daughter, Sarah most certainly would not be screaming 1st amendment rights!

Real Americans obey the law, work, pay taxes and help their communities. That simple!!

Sarah Palin is a racist herself what do you expect. For Sarah to be a public figure, she is really immature for her age. She shoule be attending to her family and spending with her kids. She is self-obsorbed and self-destructive, lots of time on her hands. If she was my mom, I would be embarrassed.

  12. False and Biased brought to you by the GOP

Oh Palin wants to talk "constitutional obstructionists" - well she needs to look no further than the mirror. Palin wants to violate the constitutional freedom of religion by discriminating against the Muslim religion and not allowing Muslims to build a place of worship where any other religion would not be questioned. Palin also wants to eliminate the 14th Amendment to the constitution. Talk about someone who is anti-Constitution. Americans have the freedom of speech but it is not unrestricted. If such speech qualifies as hate speech that incites violence or such speech is dangerous (such as yelling "fire" in a crowded theater just for fun and causing a stampede for the exit). GOPers such as Palin and Dr. Laura are coming closer and closer to hate speech these days. The list of groups that the GOP is fanning the flames of hatred toward is growing longer - gays, immigrants and now Muslims. The GOP also routinely spreads negative messages about the unemployed and people poor enough to need welfare. The GOP wants to win elections based on how much they can divide America and how much hatred they can create between groups of Americans. It is digusting and Dr. Laura's hate-filled rant is just another example of disgusting GOP behavior.

Palin and Dr. Laura, need to ride off into the sun set together, they are both big blow hards.

I am glad Dr. Laura is ending her talk show, so she will stop spewing venom on everyone, i have not listen to her in years, but i always thought she was way to harsh, with some of her callers..

But she will continue to spew her republican venom, in her books and speaking ingagements, but only the people who like her will go to these, and buy her books, she has gotten rich off of the poor slobs who listen to her, just like Palin, she is also rich, because of her fools who follow her around, listing to all of her venom, so you bunch of fools, just keep giving these two witches all of your money...

    peace out.

Wasn't it Palin who wanted us to stop using the word RETARDED because it was insensitive to the people that are mentally challanged? You can't have it both ways Palin.......if you feel Laura's rights are being infringed upon because she used the "N" word and you can stand up for her and all other idiots that use that word than you should be able to stand up for all people who use the word RETARDED .....because the "N" word is just as insensivtive not only to black people but also to a lot of White people (WHO ARE NOT BIGOTS AND RACIST).....Palin you prove everyday that you overload your mouth before any real thought comes to your BRAIN.......

how did her 1st Amendment rights get violated? She has been spewing her racist, homophobic and neo-con junk for years and nobody has stopped her....nobody is stopping her from saying the hateful things she does, however, those on the other side of any issue also have a 1st Amendment right to express how they feel...I guess she doesn't like being confronted! and how she has gotten away with giving "psychological" advice all these years is beyond me..she has a degree in "physiology"...she made the choice to leave her radio show, so stop blaming everybody else! Considering that's all she ever says (stop blaming everydoby else) she needs to take her own advice! and Palin defends her..hmm, one idio to another!

where were you when David Letterman said some thigns about your kids that you didnt like. Did you try to silence your supporters that went after him when all he was doing was exercising his 1st amendment rights. Sarah is so funny. She wants to have her moose and eat it too. This lady is bad for America folks as she contiues to disrupt and devide.

    Mrs. Palin,
Her 1st amendment rights aren't being violated, you twit! Her critics also have a 1st amendment right!!!

If Progressives were able to stifle every lame brained right-winger by taking away 1st amendment rights, we would have stifled you a long time ago.

    What a twit.

Nobody's 1st amendment rights ceased 2exist. Schlessinger quit all on her own, just like a good mama grizzly, right? It's funny that a woman who is so quick to criticize others just runs away when she is criticized. Running away screaming, "I'm the victim! People said bad things about me!"

She's a bully and a quitter... just like you Sarah.

Of course, when Jimmy Carter writes a book about Israel-Palestine relations, he's called an anti-zionist, racist, biggot, ignorant, etc. Whatever happened to his "1st Amendment?" At least he didn't get persecuted, thrown in jail, or killed. THAT my friends, is 1st Amendment rights. Dr. Laura and Palin have it confused with being "criticism-free."

"Dr.Laura=even more powerful & effective w/out the shackles, so watch out Constitutional obstructionists. And b thankful 4 her voice,America!,"

I for one am not thankful for a voice that spews the N word like there is no tomorrow. This is simply breathtaking. I hope this the end of Sarah Palin once and for all.

Sshlessinger is correct in stepping down over her very foolish remarks, acknowledging a bad mistake and taking time to rethink her actions. Palin is now showing her true colors, using the Free Speech of the Constitution as justification for racist remarks. I'm a disabled veteran myself, and have been the subject of slurs against the disabled.

Sarah Palin has a nerve! Yes Dr. Laura is allowed to say anything she wants, that is a right all Americans have. The way Dr Laura threw the N word around on her show is not acceptable for a person that is as respected as she is, but to tell someone to "dont retreat reload' really says something... a very negative something about Sarah Palin's character.

Be thankful for a voice that spurts racist slurs? Re-load? Palin wants her to drop the N-Bomb more???

Twitter should investigate blocking her for endorsing a racist.

I am not suprised that she is backing her.
