Alaska GOP Sen. Murkowski locked in tight race

(CNN) - On a night where most of the incumbents held serve in the political arena, Alaska GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski is trailing a political unknown.

Joe Miller, who has the support of the Tea Party and former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, is holding a 52 percent to 48 percent lead, according to The Associated Press. The numbers are based on 77 percent of precincts reporting.

Miller, whose previous foray into politics was a loss in the 2004 State Representative race, made big government a key issue and campaigned against Murkowski as not conservative enough.

We now REALLY know that the people of AK are a bunch of idiots, just like their half term ex governor.
Enough said about this barely populated state.

Palin knows who's clean and who's not in Alaskan politics and worked hard to clean things up. BP and other oil companies own a lot of the politicians and she foght them to the point oli companies pay a substaty to Alaskans for use of their natural resorces. Cleaning up the politics was why the bad guys had law suits filed against her to get her out of the way. She needed to fight all those without merit suits with her own money and they ran her into debt. That's how thw bad guys got her out of the way and the ignorant whine that she's a quitter. She beat those suits because they were without merit and so many commentors show their ignorance attacking the person who laid it all on the line to make things right.

Not fond of the Murkowskis, but anyone Palin backs has got to be the worse choice.

Southeast Alaska resident in the 60's and 70's for those about to tell me to mind my own business.

It looks like finally a nut case right wing extremist and supported by the pathetic palin ticket has finally won. What better place than in Alaska where the complaints about the federal debt are highest and the state has double the national credit card debt! A state of hypocrites and sarah palin

It is really amazing how hard it is to find info on this race in the MSM.... None of the liberal rags were reporting this for what it is..... another example of the power of the Tea Party and how Sarah Palin reflects the values of the majority of regular folks. I read several primary updates with no direct mention of it and a couple that said it was "a virtual tie" which shows how the tea party (i.e. Sarah Palin) is weakening. Even this article says Joe Miller is a "political unknown" but is ahead by 4%. Yet, that is somehow NOT significant....Now is that spin or what??
