Dems call Miller an 'extremist'

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption ="Democrats are moving fast to define Joe Miller as an ‘extremist.’"](CNN) - The Senate Republican primary race in Alaska still isn't over, but Democrats are moving fast to define Joe Miller - the previously unknown attorney who is on the verge of upsetting incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

In a statement Wednesday, DSCC Communications Director Eric Schultz described Miller as "an extremist who intends to transition-out Social Security, phase-out Medicare, and end unemployment benefits for all Alaskan families."

"Joe Miller seems more intent on imposing a strict social doctrine to please his out-of-state tea party backers but would leave the people of his state high and dry. Alaskans deserve a Senator who will stick up for them in the United States Senate," Schultz added.

The Anchorage Daily News reported last month that Miller has called for phasing out government Medicare and Social Security, as well as nixing the federal Department of Education.

"The only answer [to cut spending] is to return our federal government to the limits prescribed by our Constitution," Miller says on his Web site. "Federal powers not specified in the Constitution are reserved to the States by the 10th Amendment."

Miller, a graduate of West Point and Yale Law School, holds a slim lead over Murkowski with about 15,000 absentee ballots yet to be counted. Miller benefitted highly from the support of the Tea Party Express and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Let the right-winger rant and rave. Republicans will pick up seats in the Senate and House this fall, but Obama will come back big and win handily in 2012. Then we can watch the teabaggers cry us a river.

An extremist palinista. The conventional talking head story is already about palins "pull" but really? squeeking out a victory ina race where 90,000 vtes are cast is hardly "sway." She appeals, as does this nut job, to the extreme of the extreme. Fools who think getting rid of the most successful programs in our nations history is good policy - leaving the elderly to die well before their time so that the rich can have more luxury. Now THAT is radical. No solutions that wil fly in the real world most of us inhabit. just insane bumper stickers that the backers don't think about for as long is it takes to repeat them. THAT is modern conservatism.

Murkowski should do a Crist if this tea bagging freak gets the nod. She would trounce him in the general election, where sane voters, and not just republicons, would be voting.

Idiot! Congress has the power to collect taxes for the defense and WELFARE of the U.S. THAT'S what the Constitution says!

If Miller had his way, we'd look more like Afghanistan. No centralized government, everything run by a bunch of facist, radical, angry, scared, corrupt, etc., etc., etc.

Why the name calling? Can anyone in politics talk about someone from the other party without name calling? How have we gotten here?

I would just like to say how relieved I am to see the Tea Party basically digging the GOP's grave right now. It's very entertaining to sit back and watch these two eat each other's just means that there's a higher likelihood that the dems will remain in control. What the Tea Party fails to realize is that there a lot of "in-betweeners" out there. And when they are given the choice of voting for a Republican with no experience and a Democrat with tons of it........let's just say the odds are definitely in the Dems favor. That will be the downfall of both the Republicans and the Teabaggers.

Oh, and if Sarah Palin ever endorsed anything I was even remotely connected to.........I think I'd have to shoot myself in the head.

I am going to sit back and watch and listen. In a few years when we no longer have a country because of the the party of no and the extremists than I will cry and hope for change. If this happens we will only have ourselves to blame. We opened the door and allowed the crazies to come in. I can see this in my mind, everyone will run around with guns, so many will be sick because we can't go to a dr because we will not be able to afford it. Most of us will be poor and homeless except for the rich. We will have lost so many to war because we will have to fight all over the world, to keep the rich rich. Woman will have to be barefoot and pregnant, I can even see only the men will get to go to school. Cause after all woman, blacks gay and which ever persons will be second class. The sames rights that we have now will be stripped away. Mark my words, I DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK I WANT TO MOVE FORWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

There's still a General Election. Miller will probably be easier to win against, than Murkowski.

" well as nixing the federal Department of Education."

    - Ya I would say this is a little extreme. And quite frankly very scary seeing how he could possibly win the election.

Obligating the USA to $130 trillion in an entitlements is extreme. Wanting to reduce the deficit obligations is rational.

Extremist – anyone winning an election against a liberal'

Funny, don't you day yes and day no keep on saying that liberals ARE the extremists? Oh wait, you are trying to say that, to a liberal (like me), extremists are those who opposes to what 'they' (me included) believe that it is the 'Right Thing to Do'...
Just like YOU do every single day...
We're NOT like you man, I mean, most of us...

These days, are the terms "extremist" and "Republican" synonyms? The moderates have been expelled.

Any true American who would defend the Constitution would be viewed as an extremist by mainline Democrats and Republicans alike who don't want any outsider in their sandbox.

Ok, this guy is an extremist bozo. Ok, there is no love lost between the Palins and the Murkowskis. Please tell me, Alaska, have you no shame? You foisted two Senators on us who managed to return at least $3 for every dollar you sent us in taxes. When one of those Senators became your governor, he appointed his daughter to fill his term, and she continued the trend of milking the US Treasury for all she could get. Then you foisted your newly-minted, clueless Governor on us, who couldn't stand the heat when asked questions that any 9th Grade student should have been able to ask. After she tanked the Presidential campaign of her running mate, she decided to quit on you and went after the almighty bucks selling her books (which rank with Spiro Agnew on an intellectual basis). Even her co-hosts at FAUX News feed her easy questions to keep her from looking dumber than she has proven to be! Now you are letting the quitter dictate who you should be voting for? Sorry, folks. You should build a 50' high, 20' thick wall around her Wasillia compound, and cut off all outside communications to keep her from attempting to infect us further with her rank stupidity! Maybe then she can be the mother that Trig needs, instead of this insipid creature she has become!

I'm 100% certain that's what she plans to do.

"TO everyone bashing liberals: What exactly is so damned great about conservatism? If the country had no liberals then you women would not be able to vote or work, African Americans would still be slaves, and gays would be stoned to death."

I do believe that to the Teatard's mind, you answered your own question.

Of course Miller is an extremist – he is a tea bagger!

Tea baggers are extremist, racist, gun-toting violence promoters, and very dangerous to our government. First, none of them know anything about how our government works. They don't know it is the Republicans who are their true enemy. These sad old white people don't even know Republicans plan to take away their Social Security, Medicare, and even want to eliminate the Dept of Education. How more insane can you get??

My hope is that sane American voters will see the tea baggers for the nutjobs they are and go running for the common sense, hard-working, people-focused Democrats. With a full and solid Democratic Majority we can keep moving American forward, keep growing our economy, get job bills passed that Republicans have been blocking, get credit to small businesses who want to expand that Republicans have been blocking, and get help to 9/11 police, firemen, and volunteers who are now sick and dying from all the toxic dust that Republicans are blocking and get real immigration reform which Republican are blocking.

It's time to end the Republican hate and fear hysteria they hide behind. We need to show them for what they are – haters of American workers, haters of our Constitution, haters of all non-whites and ready to target Hispanics and Muslims out of intolerance and stupidity.

Republicans have NOTHING to offer America and when asked over and over what their plans are to restore America and create jobs, they can't answer and stumble around. Red-faced, they turn to all they know how to do – criticize President Obama. Republicans are do-nothings and only align themselves with large greedy abusive corporations.

They are the real terrorist threat to our People, our way of life, and our Constitutional laws. They want to destroy America just so they can try to grab power. They care nothing about this country, our working people, our issues, nor solving problems.

We MUST get these dangerous Republicans out of our government before they bring our country to its knees once again and leave us weak and vulnerable. Democrats are the Party of the PEOPLE and have DELIVERED real solutions all year to help you and I.

Vote ALL Democratic in November if you want our nation to keep moving forward, keep creating jobs, keep out of more wars, and focus on working Americans and not the elitist wealthy who Republicans help get wealthier while destroying the middle class and sending our jobs overseas.

NO more hate-filled extremist Republicans – NO to all in NOvember.

"The Anchorage Daily News reported last month that Miller has called for phasing out government Medicare and Social Security, as well as nixing the federal Department of Education."

Miller should first start with ending the state subsidy to all Alaskans. Every man, woman and child in Alaska receives THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS every year, simply because they are citizens of Alaska.

Miller should put his money where his mouth is and first eliminate socialism in his own state – and then see who'd vote for him!

Only an idiot would run for office after this administration. Let them win and finish the job so we can start over.Another 4 years of freebees will break the government and it will have to start again. We think we have a civilized nation.Wait till the checks run out.It will take another 235 years to build it back and the Socialist can start to destroy it again. There is no such word as free. We are seeing the beginning of the end.
