Democrats in fight to hold onto House seats in November

Washington (CNN) - Weighed down by a president with a sub-500 approval rating, Democratic Congressional Campaign Chairman Chris Van Hollen will lay out the party's plan of attack for November elections at a Friday news conference.

The Maryland congressman, facing a resurgent Republican Party, "will discuss why he believes Democrats deserve to win the off-year elections and how they plan to do it, the legislative agenda as passed so far including health care, financial rescue, Wall Street reform, student loans, Afghanistan action, and Iraq withdrawal," according to a statement released by the campaign.

As part of a grassroots effort, House Democrats are shooting for their supporters to knock on more than 200,000 doors nationwide.

The initiative comes as President Barack Obama's approval rating stands at 47 percent, with 51 percent saying they disapprove of how he is handling his job, which ties the record he set in March, when 51 percent also gave him a thumbs-down.

Political parties are the problem. We have to find another way to run the gov. if we expect to move forward.

Go drive in the ultra blue areas around NYC, DC, Chicago or Detroit.

Is this really the way we want to treat each other? Shouldn't we value the lives of our fellow Americans?

We have people in our military who put their life on the line each and every day for this country. Sad to say but if all of America acted as they do in the ultra blue areas, this would not be a nation worth fighting for.

We only have morally superiority over our enemies because of the red area Americans, we are no better or worse than them with the way people act and behave in blue America.

Please, don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself. You simply cannot cast an educated vote without a clear understanding of how liberal and conservative Americas live their lives and how they treat the people around them.

I find it so hard to fathom how people can be so short on memory in this country. Because this President hasn't been able to instantly turn the train wreck the GOP handed us around, he gets blamed. If you want to give the power back to big business and the wealthy, and move backwards, you deserve what you get from the GOP. They were drunk on our middle-class dollars when they were at the helm. I'm voting Dem; at least they have a plan. Are we in debt? Hell yes! When you've overspent your limits like we did for 8 yrs. with tax cuts to the wealthy, two wars, etc. you have to pay at some point. Of course our kids should be mad, but not at the wrong party! The GOP has become the party of cry babies and fringe loonies who are more interested in power than working for the average middle class. Shame on anyone who falls for this crap. Sick of hearing about Bush?Tough crap, some of us are pissed.

Time for the Dems to kick some whinney lazy Repub butt.
Dems need to stop being Mr/Mrs Nice Guy.
The Repubs don't deserve it and don't respond to it. The Repubs are wanna-be bullies, and bullies are immature punks who need to be dealt with in a forceful and deliberate way.
