Palin's full speaking contract revealed

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/05/13/art.palin.0505f.gi.jpg caption =" A judge has ordered the contents of Palin's speaking contract with a California school to be made public."](CNN) – So just what does it take to get Sarah Palin to speak at your fundraising gala?

A "deluxe" hotel suite, a first class ticket or a private jet ("Lear 60 or larger"), pre-selected audience questions, and "bendable" straws – not to mention the $75,000 in cash.

That's according to Palin's speaking contract with Cal State Stanislaus – ordered to be released by a California judge this week after the state school refused to make the document public last June.

California Attorney General Jerry Brown began an investigation in April into whether school officials were trying to avoid public disclosure laws by discarding documents. A state senator asked for the probe after he said the school refused to turn over some requested records concerning the event.

The university argued it was not compelled to release the contract because Palin was speaking at a fundraiser for the university's private, non-profit foundation.

But Stanislaus Superior Court Judge Roger Beauchesne disagreed, saying the foundation ultimately was a branch of a public entity and therefore documents relating to its business must be made public pursuant to public record laws.

"The reasonable inference from the evidence produced is that the university, in its official capacity, has 'used' the contract…in the conduct of the public's business; therefore, said contract is also a public record," Beauchesne wrote in his opinion delivered earlier this week.

Much of the contents of the contract had already been revealed: the school had previously disclosed how much it paid the former Alaska governor and portions of the contract were discovered in a dumpster by students last April.

Still, the document provides a revealing picture of the types of demands an A-list speaker can make, and serves as a reminder that no detail is too small to omit - from the lighting ("should be at a comfortable, but appropriate production level"), to the water ("unopened bottled still"), to the lectern ("no plexiglass or thin lectern please").

The June 25 speech came after months of controversy amid charges the financially-strapped school was paying too much to secure Palin.

But the Alaska governor's speech ultimately brought in record amounts of money for the foundation, and a school spokeswoman called the gala "the most successful fundraiser in the university's history."

I thought they couldn't find the contract? What a court order will do!
This is the famous meeting/photos of her first gig with botox. She looks like she can't move her face!!! Those deep lines are goe around her mouth.
If it would work to keep her mouth shut and that high pitch sound from coming through then we would be all set.
Lincoln is going to stand up and walk away when she starts talking tomorrow at the Mall!! Poor guy.

Frankly, I am not surprised. The American public created the entitlement in this woman to make such demands, and now we are stunned to see what she asks for. Frankly, the only thing that offends me is that my tax dollars are going to pay for such a speaker. I have no problems with Palin sayin what she wants on her shows, etc, but I don't want her speaking to kids and poisoning their minds with her politics. She's the worst speaker I have ever seen on TV, and can only imagine that it's even worse on person.

HAHAHAHA No thin lectern, so as not to reveal her fat ass? And, couldn't somebody on her staff be savvy enough to spell *Lear* correctly? Palin is SO out of her league, she needs to go run for Wasilla mayor again, against her on-again, off-again, would-be son in law.

    Money Talks ! Always !
Is she one of the top 3% of rich people who need the Bush tax cut be extended?

So it takes a "deluxe" hotel suite, a first class ticket or a private jet ("Leer 60 or larger"), pre-selected audience questions (well duh!), and "bendable" straws – not to mention the $75,000 in cash – to get Caribou Barbie to speak at your function? And she has the nerve to say that she represents the views and values of average, blue-collar working men and women?? This sounds more like the demands of a petulant diva or a rock star!

I love the pre-selected questions. All that dough and benefits for pablum. People who buy into this woman are proof of the dumbing down of America.

She certainly has a high opinion of herself, for someone who quit her job mid term and started a rampage against anyone who thinks differently than she does. I wouldn't give you $75 gs for her AND McCain.

Wow, so record fund raising happened! When will the people in this country embrace INTELLIGENT life again? Gee, that would require that those attending these things really THINK and become AWARE of how they are being led by special interests only interested in lining their own pockets. Wasn't the Bush administrations last eight years of severe damage to the nation enough? Please, use your heads folks and don't buy into tax cuts that in the end will only HURT you!!

I dislike Sarah Palin as much as any other intelligent person, but I don't see why this is newsworthy from a political standpoint. Many, if not most, in-demand speakers have riders similar to this. She's more of a celebrity (what are we coming to!?) than a polician these days.

So Cal State Stanislaus spent 75,000 for Palin to speak. Wow. I think that is waste, fraud, and abuse.

    Waste and fraud: Palin
Abuse: The poor audience listening to her inane speeches

Everything's copasetic with me regarding her contract. It just defines who she is. Spoiled wind-up doll that has to stick to rehearsed topics. People used to pay good money to see the freak show at the carnival. Guess they still will.

So she's doing this out of the goodness of her heart – Aww.

Diva. I wouldn't call her a political diva because she quit that. I wonder how the tinfoil people feel when they find out they've been duped by this idiot.

Shocker! Pre-selected questions? Ha! And she still has to write the answers on her hand...

Pre-selected questions? She wouldn't know what to do without that in the contract. The only thing good about this woman are her looks. She's one hot grizzly mama but about as sharp as a bag of wet mice.

"the document provides a revealing picture of the types of demands an A-list speaker can make" So? They can ask for whatever. If the foundation used the money wrong, then it is the foundation's issue, not Palin's.

How is some Wasillabilly Twitta Quitta blowhard worth this much???

Oh wait – I get it – she only preaches to the choir of like-minded tea-tards who hang on her every unintelligible nonsense string of words....

    Pre-selected audience questions....

Right - she doesn't want to get sideswiped by one of those questions she couldn't possibly answer like "What magazines do you read?"

Ah yes, just one of the little people, motivated only by her desire to save America. If she really cared, she would do it for free, or cost, or at least, economy-class seats.
