Washington (CNN) - In what resembled more a revival than a political rally, conservative talk show host Glenn Beck urged the large crowds at his "Restoring Honor" event Saturday to "turn back to God" and return America to the values on which it was founded.

"Something beyond imagination is happening," he told participants who packed the National Mall in Washington. "America today begins to turn back to God. For too long, this country has wandered in darkness."

The rally drew fire for its timing and location.

People filled the park by the Lincoln Memorial's reflecting pool, in the shadows and echoes of the most pivotal civil rights address in America's history - the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech, which he delivered there 47 years ago.

Look who's talking: Jessee Jackson; look at his past and he's saying something about Beck? What a joke and no I am not racist and neither are a lot of others who are against what is going on in this country. By the way what office is Beck running for since he is being accused of being political on this????

Amazing Glenn Beck is holding a rally for honor, he is praying, his having several different religions represented, he has guests that are the niece of MLK the Dr. A. King who stand up for hope, faith, and charity. It is all about peace, respect, honor and praying. How is it bad? What is wrong with Americans that they want so much division? What is wrong with understanding we are all one people? What is wrong with understanding that our country was founded on God and believing in God? What is wrong with all religions standing together to honor peace, respect, honor and praying? The media never wants to use facts. How sad that after watching Sharton on Cspan this morning the lies must continue to try and make the rally different than what it is, STOP THE HATE, stop the race haters who try to divide America, Sharton you are a sad man and I will be praying for you and America, JUST LIKE GLENN BECK SAYS OVER AND OVER ON HIS SHOW PRAY FOR OBAMA, PRAY FOR OUR NATION.

If jessie jackson and sharpton wanted to conduct ceremonies on the site Glenn Beck is using, they had over a year to book it. Did they book it or at least try to book the site? The answer is NO.

Well then, do these same people say that building a mosque at ground zero is also wrong? I'll bet not. We have to stop attaching significance to every event that takes place. It won't be long before there are no days we can use because someone or something happened on that day that would tarnish the memory. Get over it.
And what day will we have to set aside for jesse Jackson? Hopefully none.

Beck has proven himself to be a bigotted, small-minded racist. To pretend otherwise is laughable. His "event" is what it is: a political stunt & nothing more.

I used to be a Republican, but was sickened long ago by all the hatred and bigotry in the party. The smart people have all jumped ship long ago. It's hard for Beck to reclaim the civil rights movement when his little group is dominated by homophobes and racists. They exploit racism and fear on every election cycle.

No, Beck is not 'humiliting the tradition'; Sharpton, Jackson(s), Jealous, Waters, Rangle, Hastings, Bond, Obama(s) et al have done that and more.

It's really sad to see so many Americans falling for this charlatan and his act. He represents the worse of America and has proven he does what he does and says what he says for the attention, for the ego boost, and for the profit. It is as if PT Barnum has taken hold of thousands of people.

Hopefully the millions more throughout the nation, the true moderates who want to just live their lives, support their families, and have pride in their nation, can rise above and smother such an organization and it's fanatical leaders of Beck, Palin and Limbaugh, as well as those on the other side, Pelosi, Reid and Sharpton.

Glen Beck and his followers are complete idiots. He makes simple minded people think he is a savior of some sort and is going to save the middle class. Hey idiots–he is a milti-millionaire making more millions off your ignorance and simple mindiness. When will you people ever get it? Wake up fools.

It will be interesting to see if Sarah Pathetic can open her mouth and speak a word of truth and without political overtones? I think that will be impossible for the moron, but I will check and see! Honor? There is no Honor in FOX and Glenn Beck only lies and exaggerations!

I remember about a year or so ago, there was a news story, I forget about what exactly, but it had something to do with race. All the right wingers were on here commenting about how Obama was a racist, and that whites were being victimized, and that health care reform was actually secret reperations, and so on.

Somebody jokingly responded by saying he could see Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin one day leading a rally of rednecks at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial about their struggle for their civil rights, and all the white crackers solemny singing "We Shall Overcome!" At the time, I thought it was hilarious because it was so patently absurd.

    And now here we are....

A large collection of racists gathering together in our nation's capital to promote intolerance and ignorance on the anniversary of one of the greatest speeches in American history by one of history's greatest Americans.

If you can't spit in Dr. King's eye, you may as well spit on his legacy, right Tea baggers?

Lincoln would roll over in his grave to see what his Party has become, and to see the sheer audacity of such racist (he assures us that the President hates white people), divisive, secessionist, lying sack of stool samples as Glenn Beck that invokes Lincoln's name on his memorial.

And to do this on the anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech is the epitome of cramming his new white supremacist garbage down all our throats. Glenn Beck is a disgrace to humanity.

Sane people, across the entire political spectrum, should boycott Fox News and their sponsors until this jerk is removed from the airwaves. It's pretty easy, actually; just program your remote to skip the Fox News Channel. Takes only a few seconds, and brings such peace of mind.
