Clear majority says Palin not qualified to be president

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/08/30/art.sarahpalin.08285.gi.jpg caption =" A new poll shows only 1 in 4 Americans believe Sarah Palin is qualified to be president."](CNN) - Two days after Sarah Palin fired up a large crowd at Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor rally in Washington, a newly released survey suggests a clear majority of Americans don't think the former vice presidential nominee has the right credentials to be president.

According to the new survey from Vanity Fair and CBS News' 60 Minutes, only 1 in 4 of all adults thinks Palin is qualified to be commander-in-chief while 60 percent say she is not.

By a narrow 47-40 percent margin however, Republicans do feel Palin has the right stuff to be president. But self identified conservatives – constituting the segment of the GOP largely thought to most favor the former Alaska governor – are essentially split 41-40 percent on her abilities to govern the country.

What may also be troubling for the former Alaska governor if she finds herself in a general election matchup, 3 in 5 independent voters don't think Palin is qualified while only 21 percent do. Among moderates, the numbers are even worse with 70 percent reporting they lack confidence in Palin.

Predictably, the numbers are most dire for the former vice presidential nominee among self-identified Democrats: 3 in 4 say Palin isn't up to the responsibilities of the Oval Office.

The survey, conducted by CBS News between August 3-5, surveyed 847 U.S. adults by telephone.

That tell you the loons we are dealing with – the TEA Party crowd. How dangerous a thought. outright scary. The worst thing about it, they really believe she's qualified.

Please Sarah go back to Wasilla and enjoy your family. I think the USA will be fine without you. I've certainly heard more than enough of your babbling!

Horrific! Anyone who is blatantly self-serving, as is bad parent or as divisive as this woman has No place in American politics.
This does not include her low IQ and lack of knowledge of any isues except to pad her bank account.

We should try to find out what our fellow Americans who do think she's qualified are thinking.

I did not think that there were twenty plus percent of the population of America so foolish as to think that an uneducated, inarticulate, intolerant spreader of hate and lies was qualified to be a dog catcher, let alone President of the nation. That is a very scary thing.

Real america does not take your polls. The people taking the polls are from the left media, and they only talk to the left. So why do you use these polls.

She is not qualified to be President of the United States.

But the Republicans want her anyway?

    How stupid can we be?

Do you think Sarah Palin really cares? Palin wants that easy money and being president is not easy for a person with her education and her lack of everything!

This is no suprise, she didn't even finish the job she last ran for.

She's the only one who thinks she's qualified for anything. She barely did her job when she was governor.

I'm sorry...but when was the last poll that was good news for Palin? Every month this poll comes out and every month it is the same thing.

Why is she qualified? She couldn't handle the Gov job so explain how she could handle being the Pres.

Let's think about this rationally for a moment. Let's assume you run a business and you are looking for a manager who can make some intelligent, professional business decisions. Would you risk the assets of your company and your personal wealth by hiring this person? Probably not. If you are looking for somebody to stand by the road and draw some attention for your fundraiser car wash? Maybe. President? I am surprised that there is 1 person who would think so. Oh, there are evil people out there who would use and manipulate her and some very stupid ones who can be duped.

All the more reason that we Dems should want this idiot to run for President. I hope that she runs and wins the Republican nomination.
Will be fun watching her make a complete fool of herself and Obama will coast to an easy and well deserved 2nd term.

She's all fluff & no substance! Does she still see Alaska in her back yard? How much money was she paid to show up at Glen Beck's rally? Probably $150,000 and NOT worth a dime of it.

You know what, people need to not let her off the hook. Liberals are too nice. She wants to go on the offensive about Obama, you guys need to do the same with her? Where's her documentation that Tripp is her son and not Bristol. What qualifications does she have to judge people that hold an executive office when she quit on Alaska? Fight, Dems!

I guess if Geo W. could do it, Sarah can. More government money for coporations to move jobs overseas, tax breaks for the rich and less oversight of Wall Street.

Dah! What is taking so long for people to wake up, this is a person that cannot even make a complete sentence make sense. Her and Beck belong together, they would make a terrific couple and the they could ride off into the sunset together and forever talk their gibberish to each other.
People need to be very very careful when they listen to Palin and Beck. The BIBLE is the main source of all of the Lord's teaching not Palin and Beck. They may talk a good talk but do they walk the good walk ask yourself that question. These two people are making millions of dollars off of unsuspecting people to make their lives better not yours.
    WAKE UP PEOPLE

    OK.. and Obama is qualified?

Palin has MORE qualifications than Obama who as it seems based on the evidence, has NO IDEA what he is doing....
