Obama rips GOP for blocking business aid bill

President Obama blasted Senate Republicans on Monday for blocking a small business assistance bill.

President Obama blasted Senate Republicans on Monday for blocking a small business assistance bill.

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama blasted Senate Republicans on Monday for blocking a small business assistance bill, calling their opposition "pure partisan politics."

The country needs a "full scale attack" on economic sluggishness, he told reporters at the White House.

"While we have taken a series of measures and come a long way ... too many Americans are still looking for work and too many communities are far from being whole again," he said.

The president also said his economic team is "hard at work" on a series of new measure designed both to spark short-term hiring and lay the foundation for long-term economic growth.

WAKE UP PRESIDENT OBAMA!!! Just because YOU think its a good idea to borrow money doesn't mean it is the RIGHT THING TO DO!! You talk about a "Small Business" Assistance program but what you DON'T tell the American people is there are a bunch of tax INCREASES throughout this bill. Again, typical Democrats want to pass a bill and tell the American people they will find out what is in it LATER!! You think you are a hot shot? Then stand in front of the American people and tell them what is ACTUALLY in the bill!!

You blame Republicans but isn't it your OWN party that can't get on board? You have a significant majority in the House and 59 Senators in the Senate. If you REALLY want to pass it then pass it!! All you need is YOUR 59 senators and you know you can always get Olympia Snowe to be your 60th vote. Don't whine and complain. If you want to pass it then pass it!! You want Republican names on it so when it callapses (and it will) you can claim "bi-partisanship".

We won't fall for it!!! Get your 59 senators and Olympia Snowe and pass the darn thing and quit whining. You are such a corrupt and useless president and such a disappointment.

I swear, the GOP is totally out to lunch. They are so absorbed with being obstructionist, that they choose to fail the American people at every possible turn. The only option I can asume to be the case is that some foreign power - Russia or China comes immediately to mind - has taken control of the GOP and is paying to have representatives of the Republican party economically destroy the country from the inside out. They started this financial nightmare with their "do-nothing" policies from 2000 – 2008, and they continue to this day the same "do-nothing" policies, except now they whine about it like little children. Want to do something great for your country folks? Vote Republicans out of office!

Statritng to care Mr. President? Why not get rid of the cap and trade bill, NAFTA, or better yet remove all of the earmarks and non-related items you approved in your health care and other bills.

After a week you will be tired, you need to take another vacation.

President Oblamo does not get it. You are in charge Mr President – you have the majority in both House and Senate - LEAD IF YOU CAN resign if you cannot -- BUT stop the blame game and stop the partisan campaign rhetoric – Now is not the time

Obummie, your business aid bill is a complete sham. No more pissing money away that doesn't help business and then adds all kinds of riders to it for more pork. If you want to help small business extend the Bush tax cuts. It doesn't make any sense to give small business a few pennies with your B.S. bill and take away dollars with tax increases. Do you know the difference between pennies and dollars, Obummie? Just more smoke and mirrors!!!!

Republicans want it both ways! They obstruct even what's in the best interest of the American people because their goal is to make sure that President Obama fails! Giving aid to American businesses would help the economy, and the GOP businesses!

Wake up America and SEE the GOP for whom they really are!

"pure partisan politics." is governing and legislation behind closed doors like President Obama has done since he took office - he is an ineffective leader and he is getting push back becasue he is so partisan - Grow Up Mr Obama or Go Home

  10. Denocrats have no consensus builders or leaders

The democratic party under Obama, Pelosi, and reid is just too extreme and too partisan. There are no consensue builders - no ability to lead – and no ability get the right things done Obama has poisoned the DC landscape and this is the result. Time to clean House (literally) and then toss out President Oblamo American can do a lot better than this racial politicking so aptly done by Obama and his cronies.

As Europe is moving away from Socialism and moving toward Capitalism... the USA under the rule of this President and the Democrat run Congress (4 years and running) we are moving FROM Capitalism to Socialism... Why would we not learn from the lessons of the failures in Europe?

This President in 18 months has thrown more money away in the name of stimulus then the entire Iraq war cost in 5+ years. Unemployment is still high (higher than Obama promised us it would go)

Through all this he still blames Bush and so many "gimme something for free" people follow him.

Please wake up for your own good, for the good of our children!

Obama struck the tone for the partisan politics by his failure to negotiate with Repubs on the stimulus, health care etc. Too bad you are not happy with their obstuctionist ways. I am!!!! I can wait another two months for policies to be developed!!!! See you in November!!!!

I am a small buisness owner and none of these proposed items will help. A tax break means nothing if ther are no profits to tax. If we do not have the demand for new equipment, then why would we need a loan? The problem with small buisness is that orders are down. Why? Because this administration has created an unstable buisness climate. No one is sure which way the wind will blow next, weather Obama will shove another buisness killing program like the healthcare bill down our throats or expand the governments tenticles into another private buisness sector. I don't believe Obama is killing buisness on purpose, he's just too stupid to know what he's doing.

Obama weatherizing homes and other short-term jobs are not the answer. Bring back our manufacturing jobs thru tariffs on foreign made products and bring our off-shore jobs home thru taxation of companies that send jobs to other countries.

The bill stinks and misses the mark. That’s why the Republicans are not voting for it. And last time I checked there were Dems that think it stinks as well.
Obama has vilified "those making more than $250K". These people are scared to death of what Obama may do to them with taxes so they don't reinvest in their businesses and they don't create more jobs. Obama's class-warfare rhetoric is specifically the reason the economy has not turned. The people who create jobs don't trust Obama and why should they?

No companies can afford to hire anyone because they're spending so much lobbying the republicans to stop O'Bama and the Demo's.
The Repubs for their part have bad backs for bending over so much for the lobbies.
