Palin's 'impotent' comments make rounds

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/09/03/art.palin.0903a.gi.jpg caption =" Sarah Palin has set the blogosphere ablaze again."](CNN) - Sarah Palin has managed to set the blogosphere ablaze again, this time after appearing to use sexual metaphors to slam mainstream media reporters who rely on anonymous sources.

"Those who are impotent and limp and gutless and they go on their anonymous - sources that are anonymous - and impotent, limp and gutless reporters take anonymous sources and cite them as being factual references," Palin said in her criticism of the press. "It just slays me because it's so absolutely clear what the state of yellow journalism is today that they would take these anonymous sources as fact."

The comments, made Wednesday on Sean Hannity's radio program, appeared to be fueled by an unflattering Vanity Fair profile out the same day that, relying heavily on unnamed sources, claimed the former Alaska governor had a 'mean temper.'

"When a story is filled with those, we know it's bogus," she also said.

Palin's latest choice of words made the rounds on countless blogs and Twitter feeds Thursday.

"I agree [with] Palin on overuse of unnamed sources, but calling reporters 'impotent' and 'limp'? Did she have to go there?" tweeted Howie Kurtz, a Washington Post media critic and CNN contributor.

It's entirely believable, given what we already know about Palin and her personality, that she indeed acts the way Vanity Fair portrayed her behind closed doors (mean-tempered, vindictive, compulsive liar, etc). After what happened in Troopergate, I can understand why lots of people would rather be silent or anonymous rather than confront her.
Vanity Fair elaborated on her being a compulsive liar, and that there's no topic too small for her to lie about. Is there anyone out there with their heads buried in the sand, that hasn't seen that yet? Come on!

If journalists' sources have to remain nameless, chances are its more gossip and hearsay anyway... maybe a tip can remain nameless, but to build your story around it speaks more to incompetence... I think what she was trying to say is that to rely on nameless sources is to have an impotent mind and a weak story. But I can see where journalists would get their little feelings hurt, incompetence is such a personal issue for which there is no little blue pill.

Maybe if those around her didn't fear her juvenile retaliation they would step up. But this way she gets to be a bully AND a victim. Just another day in PalinLand

And with language like that delivered to the public, we are suppose to believe that none of the anonymous accounts of her behavior are true.....hmmm???

Thats because she can't speak English. She speaks in tongues, and I believe as someone else called it – Anacoluthon. A broken, fragmented way of speaking which only makes sense to her cult of followers. She makes the Republican party LIMP and IMPOTENT.

What's limp is her brain! Doesn't she have a beautiful command of the English language? And didn't she major in journalism at one of the numerous colleges she attended? Why can't she just stay in Alaska and leave us alone? John McCain inflicted this twit on us (which cost him the election) and she and her family won't go away.

I really find Palin's constant criticism of journalists hilarious. In the MANY colleges she attended, didn't she major in Journalism? Duhhh!!!

And the truth begins to come out...... why does this not surprise me?

Funny anonymous – sources seemed to pretty acceptable in the Watergate scandal, Whitewater, and for Wiki leaks.. What the heck is old Howie and the Post thinking? Anonymous – sources have been the foundation of investigative reporting since the beginning of time.

So does this mean that SP is now "impotent and limp" because of her new status as part of the media with her job at Fox?

SP needs a load of psychiatric help. Along with being completely delusional and narcissistic, she exhibits many more symptoms of neurosis and psychosis. Why the media, whom she continues to bash at every turn, continues to cover her is beyond explanation. Just say no to reporting the rants of SP!

Palin would have us believe otherwise but every single time something unflattering about her appears, she responds. She calls the media names all the time in the hopes people are buying into it. Isn't her degree a journalism one? The media covers her and she continues slamming the media, I would ignore her. Without media, where would she be? Her daughter is dependent on Hollywood media for a living at this point, so I guess deep down she really likes the media. Her responses give truth to what is written because isn't her response a sign and show of "mean temper" at its heart. Seems to be a bunch of name calling the very thing she is accusing the media. Palin is the red queen from Alice in Wonderland come to life. I doubt this comment will be posted as CNN follows every move the woman makes.

Now that the truth is coming out about her, she cannot stop it or gloss it over or change the subject.

This nut job is headed straight for a nervous breakdown – and the sooner the better!

One of her friends anonymously told Vanity Fair that Palin doesn't, in fact, hunt. If it's true, then there's more proof that she's a big fat liar. She has stated on numerous occasions that she hunts.

I don't care if she's never killed an ant or an elephant, but this is akin to claiming some honor on your resume that you never received. If someone would lie like this about something insignificant, how can we trust her to be truthful about something important?

Given her likely need to go after anyone who crosses her I can understand people not wanting to be identified.
I think the media needs to respect Ms Palin's wishes. The media needs to leave her alone. No more stories about her and no more opinions pieces about her. No more polls and no more references to her. Do not include her in any story about anything. This would also make the rest of us happy as well.
Just let her fade away – like you let Paris Hilton fade away. We are still grateful for that one.

Maybe she's thinking about the porn script that she is writing and can't get those images out of her head.
Maybe she needs to learn more words.
Maybe people who respect her should pay attention to her substance and not just love her.
    W. Mark Felt was an anonymous informant, you may remember WATERGATE??? "He was Deep Throat."
Anonymous sources, properly vetted are perfectly ethical and usable sources of information.

Palin has been a disgrace from the start as a quitter in Alaska to her foot in the mouth campaign that lost the election big for McCain.
Now she continues to have support from the racist teabuggers and other poorly educated Americans on the right. What a sad comment on America and American politics. What a sad comment on how our Democracy brings the scum to the top!

Sounds like she is proving the points made in the article. Too bad her supporters are unable to think critically or be objective.

Uhhhhh...are we completely uneducated, or are we just completely biased and set on misleading everything this lady has to say.

"Impotent" means "erectile dysfunction" to those whose only education is Viagra commercials. To others, it means "lacking power or ability," "helpless." Interesting, the author of this "Trending" has astutely proved Ms. Palin's comment correct.

  23. Fox news is not yellow journalism???

OMG.....I've heard it all........Sarah Palin on Sean Hannity denouncing yellow journalism.............Thats like the Some cut rate cardinal denouncing the Catholic church on Catholic TV.....

Apparently the Vanity Fair article hit home. If people read the article, which I did, they will see that the reporter cites both named and unnamed sources. I am not interested in what goes on inside Palin's home, but there was a lot of insight as to how she is managing her political and professional life.
Plain's message is based on inconsistencies, misleading assertions, attacks and most of all, falsehoods. She slams the real media continuously, while she is a star in the sham media represented by Fox and others.
Voters need to wake up. She has nothing of substance to contribute.
