Rahm: Will he or won't he?

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="A source close to Emanuel says he will probably look at the open seat for Chicago Mayor as an option but has some time to make the decision."]

(CNN) – The news that Chicago Mayor Richard Daley will not seek another term sent blackberries buzzing with the question: Will White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel turn in his hard pass to run for Daley's seat?

A source close to Emanuel tells CNN that it's complicated. He takes his job seriously and feels a responsibility to see out his duties serving the President during difficult times. That said he's made no secret of the fact that he's always wanted to be Mayor of Chicago, a city he served in the House of Representatives.

Read a statement on Mayor Daley's retirement from Rahm Emanuel here.

The source close to Emanuel says he will probably look at the open seat as an option but has some time to make the decision.

Can't think of a slimier, more corrupt, union toady except out president that would be more perfect to operate in the murderours, corrupt union/mob controlled cesspool that is Chicago. He can have Blago as his bagman and take Obama and the Rev. Wright as his spiritual advisors.

Any person who takes a responsible job in the White House will do the best job possible whether that person is a Democrat or Republican. Every president must deal with any number of problems and it is the job of his staff to help him to get his programs passed.

Read through these remarks and it is easy to see why we are in trouble. We do not believe anything that anyone says. We call the President a liar and worse. His staff and aides are referred to in a negative way and can never do anything right. The name- calling and total lack of respect for anyone just comes pouring through You might not like the person but at least respect the fact that the person is doing the job.

No matter what Mr. Emanuel decides to do it will be his decision to make. He loves Chicago and he just might want to be Mayor. Good for him for wanting to try for the office.

Let's see if we all can write and speak with less venom. It would be a pleasant change.

I'm Canadian, lived in 4 countries (Cda, US, UK & India), and I think Chicago is the greatest city on Earth.

I pray that the city gets a mayor worthy of it.

    Aw Well,
Ii may be a good time to desert a sinking Ship. Obama is most likely going to be a one termer anyway and the winds of change are already blowing strong. Do you want to be Mayor of Chicago??? It must be better than the Obama Adminstration.
