Kaine marks start of traditional fall campaign season, slams GOP

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption ="DNC chairman Tim Kaine spoke Wednesday in Pennsylvania."]Washington (CNN) – Tim Kaine, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, kicked off the 2010 campaign season Wednesday morning in Pennsylvania, lambasting the Republican Party and Minority Leader John Boehner in a highly partisan speech.

Kaine's address stuck to a script likely to be repeated by Democratic office seekers all over the nation as the midterm elections approach, as he ticked off the legislative accomplishments of President Obama and the Democratically controlled Congress.

But Kaine did go after House Minority Leader John Boehner, saying he is already "measuring the drapes."

"[L]et's look no further than the man who is already measuring the drapes for the Speaker's office, Minority Leader John Boehner, for how Republicans would govern and what their priorities would be," Kaine said. "Just recently Mr. Boehner led Republican opposition to legislation to help states facing tough times keep teachers, firefighters, and police on the job."

That jab seems to be part of a concerted effort to target the Republican leader who is in line to become House Speaker if Republicans seize control of Congress. President Obama, delivering a speech Wednesday in Parma, Ohio, also had harsh words for Boehner.

Boehner wasn't the only Republican that Kaine targeted. Also on the hit list were Republican Pennsylvania Senate hopeful Pat Toomey, as well as Tea Party favorites Ken Buck of Colorado, Joe Miller of Alaska, Sharron Angle of Nevada and Rand Paul of Kentucky, who are all seeking Senate seats.

Since the Democrats can't run on any of their accomplishments let me see if I can't help you out:

    1) "It's George Bush's Fault"
    2) "The Party of No"
    3) "Only care about the rich"
    4) "Big Business"
    5) "Just want more profits"
    6) "It's George Bush's fault" (I know – I already said that but the Democrats have no alternative but to continue trying to convince the public of this lie).

End result is the Democrats got FULL control of the Executive and Legislative branches and pushed their policies and ideology (even though the people did not want it) and were just CONVINCED the economy was going to take off, pixie dust would fall from the clouds, and double rainbows would be seen every day (WHOA – DOUBLE RAINBOW!!!!). The fact is the last two years PROVE that liberal thinking does not work in the REAL WORLD!! End result is this is Obama's economy now and no matter HOW he tries to spin it the truth is he has killed this economy.........

End result: Get ready to hear "It's George Bush's fault!!" on a regular basis....

At some point, I'd love to see working for the American people become priority number one over this partisan politics nonsense. Yes, Republicans have been ridiculous, self-serving obstructionists. Yes, Democrats struggle to govern their way out of a paper bag. But stop putting yourselves and your party first! We the American people need intelligent, pragmatic leaders who will work for US!

The policies that Obama want to enact do effect you from cradle to grave but not in a positive way.Who wants to live under the socialist utopia created by this president.? For me i believe in the free market system that the rest of the world is trying to emulate and not like Obama world of economics that has been tried in various parts of the world and failed every time.

I am starting to see the Democrats as the party of "blame someone else as I take no responsibility for nothing unless it is good". Pathetic.

John Boehner is an idiot. So is Mitch McConnell. The president's new tax break proposal for businesses was proposed by Republicans when they were in power. President Obama has proposed the SAME ideas, but better! And what do Mitch McConnell and John Boehner say?? NO! They are such obstructionists. The polls are so wrong. The Republicans dont have a chance in hell of winning back the House or the Senate. If you want more of what we just got rid of, vote Republican..... I dont agree with the president 100%, but at least he is doing something for THIS country, not one 6000 miles away that doesnt want us there to begin with. OBAMA BIDEN 2012!

You need to hope for more than just two years of Obama gt. He has begun to bring us out of the disaster handed to him by Bush/Cheney. We were losing 800,000 jobs per month in 2008 and early 2009. We now have added private sector jobs for the last 8 months in a row. The monster disaster was handed to Obama and his team in January of 2009 and they are turning the course of the economy around and getting it growing and adding jobs.

Gotta love the Republicans. Typical tough, act tough, etc. etc., and the second someone stands up to them and calls them out, they whine like whipped b-tches. Oh boohoo, a Democrat called us out on something...we're going to cry, wet our diapies and claim we've been victimized.

"Who wants to live under the socialist utopia created by this president.?"

Wow...stick two words together for which you have no idea of the definition and concepts that give them meaning a voila...a parrot regurgitating something they heard Limabugh or Boehner or McConnell said. Hey genius...were this a "socialist utopia," we'd all be happy to live in it. Seeing as how this country is nowhere near socialist, that not a thing that Obama or the Dems have done constitutes socialism and we're about as far from a utopia as you can get before someone starts shooting, you need to get a dictionary and an education.

Oh for God's sake, jim, lay off the "Obama's a socialist" crap will you please?! It is SO old and lame! First of all, I bet you would know a real "socialist" if one came up and bit you on the ass! Secondly, there is nothing, I repeat, NOTHING in any of this President's policies that are remotely socialist! So please stop. It just makes you sound reactionary, extremist and quite frankly, dumb as a box of rocks!

  14. New Age Independant

Democrats have had a golden opportunity controlling congress and the presidency, but have only shown the country how inept and corrupt they are. I've seen no indication that Obama has the slightest clue how to do anything other than campaign and blame republicans for his own shortcomings. Democrats have only themselves to blame. I won't be making the same mistake by voting for Democrats this year. They've blown their chance with me.

Most recently we have had some great Governors here in Va and Tim Kaine was one of them.
Now we have a radical right-wing theocrate and his hypocrite henchmen (Cucinelli, Fimian, Rat Robertson, Falwell, Fimian, Rigellin', McWaters) in power trying to drain off our civil and religious liberties, while destroying the effectiveness of our state government. Just like Bush/Cheney did on the federallevel.
Typical Republican thugs who can't implement their vicious favoritism through passing real laws who will stoop to political tricks to force intolerance and bigorty on Virginians.

I have not forgotten what got our country into this mess. For the last two years the party mostly responsible for that mess has done absolutely nothing except lie, mislead, distort, and oppose EVERYTHING. The oldest trick in the book, play down to the lowest common denominators= ignorance and fear... Hold the line! We will not turn back.

  17. Republicans is smart in the head area

Kinda funny how some of the polls are shifting back towards the Democrats that all of the Rightwingnuts come out of woodwork and start whining and screaming. Watch what happens when the momentum shifts even further towards the Dems as we draw closer to the election.

I'm still 'RICH" and pay less taxes than you poor people thanks to Bush's tax break. So make sure you vote Republican to keep me rich because Obama wants me to pay more taxes and I refuse.

The socialist thing was lame from the begining. and now it's just pathetic and limp.
Look up the 14 elements of fascism and you will see a Republican staring back at you.
You Repubs can try but those of us who don't worship "foxed up tv" (63%) won't swallow like you do.
Truth is Bush/Cheney legacy is your legacy. Enjoy!

A little note for all Democrats everywhere and Independents:
I just watched the President in Cleveland give his speech. I also just watched the 'cheap' video clips put out by the Republican Party. Absolutely no question about it. Blaming the deficit on Obama? What a joke. Just how stupid do the Republicans think we are? I think it would be a good idea for President Obama to pay a visit to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. I wonder what John Boehner would say to that. For those who don't know, Wright-Patterson is in Ohio's 8th Congressional District, which is where John Boehner's voters reside. Obama could repeat the same speech he gave in Cleveland. Justin Coussoule (D) is John Boehner's opponent. He's a West Point grad and an Attorney with a clean background. President Obama, please go to Wright-Patterson AFB while you are in Ohio. Security should be much more than adequate.

  21. Out With Sharron Angle Already!

As for Sharron Angle of Nevada, she is one who voting Americans in Nevada should not forget. She has been reported as wanting to dismantle Social Security and Medicare in favor of the RepubliCANT way. That is not something older Americans in their Golden Years and Baby Boomers should have to face.

If Sharron Angle gets her way, we can all kiss Social Security and Medicare goodbye which simply means that it is going to COST everyone plenty of money each time you get sick and need medical care or hospitalization! This is something to really consider! Senator Reid is our only hope in preserving the institution that was left in place for us when we get older, by those in the know about how not all Americans, except for the rich ones, could afford to just write a check for their medical care. Most others cannot.

So, this November, OUT with Angle and IN with Reid! Don't settle for an Obtuse 'angle', maintain a Congruent one for America with Senator Reid!

If you take the comment: "spread the wealth around" and his idea that a central government is qualified to do this, it's pretty clear to see that Obama is quite close to being a socialist.
You may have been brainwashed to think that people do not understand socialism as well as you but, if you don't think Obama is anywhere near being a socialist, it is you who does not understand socialism and how it spreads. You should reside in a socialist country for a time, you will have a new perspective and a desire to vote Republican.

The Party of NO has no ideas, not solutions to the problems faced by the country most of which originated under the dictatorship of Bush/Cheney, and all they really want to try to do is to shut Obama down. Well guess what, The Grand Obstructionist Party only wants to give tax breaks to the rich and that will never produce any jobs. the GOP is in trouble because they abdicated their message to the delusionary fanatics of the Tea Party.

  24. Tired of the Dems lies and sucking up to Republic Hate for President Obama

Why do Republican oppose 50 Billion for much-needed Infrastructure and support 800 billion worth of "welfare" to the richest 120 thousand Americans.

You want to see Socialism: I give you socialism for the rich courtesy of the "anti-deficit" g.o.p.

  25. Liberalism is a mental disorder

Wah wah wah, the Republicans are such bullies. Tear into Sarah Palin and her family, crucify every conservative, and applaud Republicans that defy the party platform. Liberals are such a pathetic
group of pansy ass, welfare slugs, tax cheats, pedophiles, drug
users, felons, and illegal aliens. Fidel Castro even admitted that socialism/communism is a failed policy. Kepp your blinders on libturds, you're going to get flushed in November.
