Palin backs O'Donnell over Castle

Sarah Palin joined the Tea Party Express Thursday in endorsing Republican Senate hopeful Christine O'Donnell, who is locked in a battle for Delaware's GOP nomination with centrist Rep. Mike Castle.
Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, made the endorsement in an interview on conservative commentator Sean Hannity's radio show.
O'Donnell quickly touted Palin's backing.
"Just got Gov. Palin's endorsement! Thank you for your prayers!" O'Donnell wrote in a message on Twitter.
The state's GOP establishment has thrown its weight firmly behind Castle, a former Delaware governor who has been serving in Congress since 1993.
The Castle campaign responded to Palin’s backing of O’Donnell by pointing to their own endorsements from “respected conservative Delawareans.”
"Tuesday's primary will be decided by grassroots Republican voters here in Delaware, not out-of-state interest groups who are working to control the outcome. Mike Castle has overwhelming support from respected conservative Delawareans, including former Gov. Pete DuPont and Judge Bill Lee, who know that Castle is the true fiscal conservative and the only candidate who can win this seat for Republicans in November," said Castle spokesperson Kate Dickens.
The Tea Party Express on Tuesday announced its support for O'Donnell, outlining plans for an aggressive campaign effort in the days leading up to the September 14 Republican primary.
UPDATE: Late Thursday night, the Republican Party of Delaware, which has voiced support for Castle, said in a release that it has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging that O’Donnell has knowingly accepted illegal donations from the Tea Party Express.

I can't imagine Sarah Palin publicly endorsing anyone for fear she would be contradicting hers and her daughters statement about Levi Johnston seeking publicity and actually be seeking publicity herself by appearing on Mr Hannity's radio talk show. Hmmm!

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!: STOP reporting what she "Twitters". Think about that! You are reporting what an unelected person is Facebooking and Twittering. Why not report what I Facebook and Twitter? I have almost as much experience as she does, just need to get elected in the least populated state and quit half way through my term. Do I need to be a VP candidate? No, she didn't learn anything there except how to take advantage of the GOP's expense budget.
Why does anyone care who she supports or not. She has NO understanding of the world, she is an out of touch narcissist who bases all of her "so called" opinions less than on flimsy logic. She is a pop star, not a politician!
The GOP will probably do well this November, and may even take over control of Congress, but meanwhile there is a slow-motion civil war going on in the Republican Party.
By 2012, I expect to see it split in two, with the Tea Party becoming an independent party. I just don't see how you can keep these two different factions in the same party for long.
In time, Palin and her Tea Party friends will prove to be too "mavericky" for their own good. You betcha!
Castle is another RHINO. He's as useful as Chuck hagel or Lincoln Chaffee or that real winner Arlen Spectator. I'd rather have a liberal DEM in there than a liberal Rep. These rhinos like Castle do more harm than good for the party. Stem the Red tide on Nov 2. Get rid of the Castles' and Reid's and Pelosi's.
