O'Donnell picks up another big endorsement

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/09/07/art.odonnell.file1.odonnell.jpg caption="Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell picked up the endorsement of Sen. Jim DeMint on Friday."](CNN) - Add another prominent Republican to the list of conservatives and conservative organizations who have endorsed Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell.

South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint announced Friday night his endorsement of the Tea Party-endorsed candidate. His backing follows similar announcements in recent days from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Tea Party Express and the National Rifle Association.

"I’m proud to endorse Christine O’Donnell for U.S. Senate in Delaware," DeMint wrote Friday on his Twitter page. "She will stand strong for the principles of freedom."

DeMint, a conservative senator whose name has been floated as a possible 2012 contender, has unveiled a number of endorsements in recent months that have pitted him against either the GOP establishment or former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

O'Donnell is locked in a battle for Delaware's GOP nomination with centrist Rep. Mike Castle, who has the party establishment’s backing.

The GOP primary in Delaware will be held on Tuesday.

More lunatic fringe is just what this country doesn't need. Of course recommended by Grifter Sara the biggest know nothing and the biggest embarrassment to our country.

I would like to hear a candidate, any candidate, tell me that , when it came time to vote on any piece of legislation , he HAD no personal opinion. He ( or she ) would vote the opinion of the majority of voters in his district.

Wow, to have so much ammunition behind you. Big game hunter Palin and the National Riffle Association. Sounds like a shot in the dark to me.

PS: Who's the big wig that oversees The Ticker? I think he's got a crush on Palin.

Is this the dingbat who think "gay" can be cured? OMG.....what next? These "fringies" seem to be creeping out from every corner. Saw Palin's snarky-assed comment to Arnie about CA. Had to laugh at that too. She boasts about Alaska's "riches" and what crappy shape CA is in. Number one, she's a quitter, so no credit to her for anything Alaska does. Number two, CA is just a bit more complex with a population far exceeding Alaska...no comparison whatsoever. Good thing she lives on moose; we'll keep our produce here. Hey, isn't Alaska a "socialist" state with everyone getting a chunk of oil money?

And the once-proud Republican Party has another wing-nut running for office. How can this happen? Where are the intelligent, educated candidates that used to represent the Republican Party? Those who debated differences with Democrats without using shameful language. Those who would never yell "You lie" at a sitting President. Gone. All sense of honor and decent behavior have left the Party. Now, we have Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, and Ms. O'Donnell. Ronald Reagan must be spinning in his grave.

The US Constitution is based on the separation of Church and State. For too long Evangelistic Christians have brought their 'church' into my 'state'. It's time for all elected officials to take an oath that they will uphold The Constitution.

It's totally unacceptable that people with religious agendas are permitted to bring that into their job of governance in this Country.

We should be outraged this is happening. People don't want Shariah Law, well fundamental Christianity is as outrageous.

Karl rove not endorsing you??? Maybe you are even more whacky than Rove can support. You seem to have a problem with responses to confrontations" Guilty dogs bark" and your only response to the accusations is to insult someone's masculinity I guess your role model set that type of response for you with her impotent, limp insult towards a reporter who actually hit the nail on the head about her. Good luck Tuesday not to you but to the people pf Delaware who I am sure are way too smart to elect you in any capacity. Get thee to a nunnery!!!!!!

Well O'Donnell is a Republican due to either greed or bigotry. There's no other reason to be a Republican. Whatever the case, its not a good sign when her bigoted colleagues give her the thumbs up. The less Republican politicians there are, the better our country is.
