Christie sends fundraising e-mail for Castle

(CNN) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie penned a fundraising e-mail Sunday to help Delaware Rep. Mike Castle fend off Tea Party insurgent candidate Christine O'Donnell in that state's Senate race.

"I know that Mike Castle agrees with what I've been doing in New Jersey since taking office in January: controlling spending, balancing the budget, reducing the size of government and creating an environment that allows our small businesses to thrive and grow," Christie wrote.

"He is the Republican that Delaware - and our country - needs in the United States Senate, and he is the only candidate in this race that can put this seat in the Republican column in November," he added.

Christie endorsed Castle at the University of Delaware - they both graduated from UD - on September 2.

Castle is vying with O'Donnell for the Senate seat vacated by Vice President Joe Biden.

While Castle has the backing of the GOP establishment - which has been fighting hard on his behalf - O'Donnell has received endorsements from leading conservatives such as Sarah Palin and South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint.

Delaware's Senate primaries will be held on Tuesday.

How about helping President Obama create jobs instead of helping your buddy get a job.

Castle has been in office too long already,we need new blood and with a view of not how long you can be in office, but how you can help the average American keep more of the money they work for.

This is from a governor who can't see beyond his ideological blinders. I don't like either candidate. The first state needs better candidates.

Good for Christie! The Tea Party has allowed itself to be hijacked by so many factions, and each have their own agendas that reach far beyond the original rallying cry of fiscal conservatism and protecting the Constitution. Theocrats and social extremist’s like O’Donnell (along with many others) have no business imposing their skewed draconian set of values, religion and morality on the country as a whole. This last time I checked we lived in a republic and not a theocracy and that’s why these bible thumping extremists need to be kicked to the curb. A vote for Tea Party candidates in November means a loss of Americans individual freedoms and rights come January.

    Gov Christie,
I think your great and you are going to turn New Jersey around ( I wish we had you here in NYC) However, I disagree. Right now, We really need a true blue conservative. RINO'S make me a crazy person, Pick a side. I hate politicians who say they are an R or D that look to see which way the wind is blowing and flow with it. It's about principals. If you do not share principals with either party, Call yourself an Independent. Look at Mike Bloomberg, The former Democrat, Republican and now independent. These are the ones that should be voted out first!
