"There are a lot of people who seem to think they know how to run this country. I hope they'll let me hear from them." At least I think I remember him saying something like that. Anyway, it was a huge mistake, because I have now written 600 letters to the White House. One every day since he was inaugurated. It started as a joke. I thought the idea of sending armchair advice to the Leader of the Free World was funny and my first letter was really little more than congratulations.
But after I posted letters on the "AC360" blog for 10 days, a lot of readers liked them, so I extended the string to the first month. Then the first 100 days. Then 200. And now, I have written enough to fill two books. And yes, I am aware that this can look like either dedication or mental illness, depending on your point of view.
Most of the letters are funny, or at least they make me laugh. Like the one I wrote about his fancy new presidential limo.

Read the full list here. Today's featured district is:
Illinois 17th – Rep. Phil Hare (D) is seeking a 3rd term
Primary: February 2, 2010
Location: West-central Illinois
Days until Election Day: 51
One sign of how severe the anticipated Republican wave will be this November will be how hard it hits the 17th congressional district of Illinois. If Democratic Rep. Phil Hare is toppled or given a serious run for his money in his quest for a third term, it is a likely indication that Democrats nationwide are having a rough night.
Washington (CNN) - The CNN 100, a list of the nation's 100 most vulnerable House races, has been updated to reflect the latest developments in the battle to control the chamber this November.
Two Democratic incumbents, Ed Perlmutter of Colorado and Phil Hare of Illinois, were added to the list, replacing GOP rep. Ken Calvert of California and Democrat Nick Rahall of West Virginia.
The CNN 100 is now comprised of 85 Democratic seats, 15 of which are open seats and another 70 with incumbents running for re-election. There are 15 Republican seats in the CNN 100, 5 open seats and 10 incumbent races.
The updated list can be viewed here. The latest changes are detailed after the jump.

Mike Castle are vying for the Republican nomination for Senate in Delaware."]Millsboro, Delaware (CNN) - The Republican party's candidate in Delaware says he won't be caught off guard by the Tea Party in the final days before Tuesday's primary.
Mike Castle, the moderate Republican congressman whose Senate bid has the support of the state GOP, is trying to avoid becoming the next Lisa Murkowski.
Sen. Murkowski, the Republican incumbent in Alaska, was ousted by a Tea Party challenger last month. Soon after her defeat, she phoned Castle with a warning, the congressman tells CNN.
"I actually received a call after the election saying, 'Mike, you need to be prepared, they'll come at you hard,' " Castle said after a campaign stop in Millsboro, Delaware. "It was part of a broader wake-up call that's been going on for several months now."
