DOVER, DELAWARE: 'Still biting our nails' O'Donnell says

Editor's note: Look for regular Trail Running field updates from CNN's anchors, correspondents and producers spread out across the country covering politics on the campaign trail. As always, the CNN Political Ticker is your source for up-to-the-minute political news– now even more so.

7:30 p.m. – Christine O'Donnell is already making herself at home at her primary night headquarters, in an Elks Lodge in Dover. She is doing a round of live interviews – an hour before the polls close. And her aides say we can expect to see a lot of her mingling with the crowd gathered and not just holed up in a private room –as many candidates do– while they await election results.

She says she is exhilarated but knows the result is mostly out of her hands. "We aren't popping any champagne corks yet," and "we are still biting our nails."

If she wins, she says she hopes for support from the national Republican Party apparatus but knows it is not guaranteed.

As for the campaign's event set up, it is on the simple side –a stage adorned with an American and Delaware state flags.

Already a few dozen supporters have gathered, waiting. Some of them are wearing Team Christine shirts from the campaign.

"Some of them are wearing Team Christine shirts from the campaign."

LOL....apparently that may be the only pay they receive.....
    O'Donnell is a liar and a phony.

Castle sucks too....but at least he pays his bills and isn't a pathological liar.

Republicans control who wins along with their big business partners, overseas investors and Wall Street. Tea Party ain't got none of that.

O'Donnell is the only chance republicans have to win the general election. Castle has burned too many republican bridges with his nauseating ad campaign.

I find it amazing that ethics questions are brought up about candidates, voters put them in office and then complain about them.

I cannot believe this is really happening. No offense to Ms O'Donnell, but you...I don't even know how to approach this. A fairy godmother is roaming around sprinkling endorsements on people she doesn't even know. The candidates don't even have to be successful. Mercy. What is this? Do we hate Obama so much that the GOP-T-Party will try to insert any candidate who will vote as told. If you get her, Handel, Whitman, Fiorino and the like, your state deserves them. Bachman resoundingly endorsed O'Donnell as a gubernatorial candidate that she knows will do great things. I didn't know she was running for governor. Well Bachman knows her like a sister. What do I know? I wonder how much that fairy dust costs.

Don't bite you nails, Ms. O'Donnell, or touch yourself in any other way.
