Nancy Reagan weighs in on California races

(CNN) - Nancy Reagan weighed in on the Senate and gubernatorial races in her home state on Wednesday, offering her endorsement of the Republican candidates in both California races.
The former first lady announced her support for Senate candidate Carly Fiorina and gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman a day after the three women sat down together for a private meeting.
Both women said they are honored to have the endorsement of Reagan, a former first lady of California.
"She and I share the same core values, and I am thankful to have her confidence and support behind my campaign for U.S. Senate," Fiorina said.
Fiorina is locked in a tight battle to unseat three-term Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer. Whitman also faces a tough challenge from Attorney General Jerry Brown to succeed Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Whitman also expressed her gratitude to Reagan.
"The legacies of President Reagan and Nancy Reagan have long been an inspiration to me, and their impact on our state and our nation is immeasurable," Whitman said.

Oh Nancy, are you okay, dear? You can kiss stem cell research good-bye then. Also, how can anyone with any kind of integrity support a CEO who was fired from that once great company like HP? She created a mess there (I worked there at the time). I can tell you, that created jobs in the States was not her agenda; more like shipping them overseas. Are you kidding me!?
Lets see Fiorina....Voted worst CEO in HP history , laid off 20000 AMERICAN workers and moved the jobs overseas, was given the option to leave HP or get fired. Now if this is what you want in Washington what do you think she will do to the people of California.
Wow!! An endorsement from a former first lady that most voters today don't even remember. And if they do, it is as someone who consulted astrologers to help her husband make decisions during that dark period when he was President of the US. Now that will certainly guarantee the HP queen of failure a victory. Give me a break.
Carly Fiorina will be great for the State of California and America. We are fortunate to have this level of person willing to go into public service just when it is so badly needed.
Barbara Boxer will not be missed. Except maybe by Obama.

This coming from a former first lady whose husband DESTROYED this country and it is because of him – we are still suffering. W only increased the tumor already created by Reagan. Hear this: I don't care who endorses Fiorina, I will be voting for a democrat. Our president has been treated horribly (mainly due to racism) and demeaned by those on the right. It will be a cold day in hell before they EVER get my vote.

I am surprised that Meg Whitman actually knows who Ronald Reagan was as she never had time to be engaged in politics up until now. Who would possibly vote for this neophyte!? Being a businessman or woman does not give you the credentials to run a very complex state. Even with a win she will find herself, as did Arnold Schwarzenegger, impotent while faced with a Democratic majority in the Assembly and state Senate.
I've always admired Mrs. Reagan but her choices for Californias political spots show just how much she is out of the scene. Neither of these woman have the integrity and acumen to take on the problems we have here and in fact are more interested in themselves than in the people of this state. Fiorina has a very distressing business background and Whitmans isn't much better, not to mention that she is buying the office for money that could have been spent on the state itself and probably have gotten her more votes. As a lifetime Californian, I will not vote for either one.

California has had both Boxer and Brown pulling for the state of California before. Come on you Californians don't be the only drag here. Don't even consider these two candidates. They have only brought disaster to you. Join with the movement of taking all incumbents out of office. Therefore you only have one choice and that is change. Cahane these people sen them into lifelong retirement. WHICH IS ALSO SUCH A SHAME NO WAY SHOULD THESE PEOPLE BE ABLE TO DRAW DIFFERENT INSURANCE THAT THE PEOPLE OR HAVE SUCH AN OUTRAGEOUS RETIREMENT BENEFIT. IT MUST BE CHANGED AND DONE QUICKLY.

Nancy Reagan is a wonderful person and was a great First Lady. She is a true class act.
Oh, please. This is the same woman who, as First Lady, encouraged Ronald Reagan to ignore the AIDS epidemic until it turned into a fashionable Hollywood cause. There are obviously some values there, but how humane are those values?
