Palin: Murkowski write-in campaign 'futile'

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption ="Sarah Palin took a shot at longtime rival Lisa Murkowski on Friday."]Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - Moments after her high-profile speech to the Iowa Republican Party, Sarah Palin addressed Friday's news that Sen. Lisa Murkowski, recently defeated in her GOP primary by Tea Party-backed Joe Miller, will launch a write-in campaign to retain her seat.

“It’s a futile effort on her part, it really is,” she told reporters in Des Moines, in between signing copies of her book for fans. “She certainly has the right to do so, but Joe Miller is the right person to lead the state and this country.”

Palin and several of her advisers backed Miller in the primary.

Tensions have long simmered between the Murkowski family and Palin, who defeated Lisa’s father, Frank, in the 2006 GOP gubernatorial primary.

Both Lisa and Castle are sore losers. I for decades have always supported the winner of a primary even if my person lost. So have milions of conservs. The moderates are so snarky, smarmy, elitist, they would rather have the leftist Dem win then have an upstart beat them. Well, I hope the voters of Alaska and De. surprise the media Journolists and Mike and Lisa with great wins for Joe and Christina.

Pure Palin, as in when she puffed about the VP's job: "Joe Miller is the right person to lead the state and this country."

Not really, Sarah. Facts are not optional.

Question is if he is senatorial material.

How come little miss "know all" with the big mouth is so sure she can speak for voters in Alaska which she dumped on to go to greener pastures .Incredible what she thinks she knows, when just a few months ago she was struck dumb every time a correspondent asked her a question? These days she doesn't even talk to the press because they might ask her something she can't make up a quick answer to.Any one who thinks this woman is presidential material has a problem that the whole country would suffer for if this catastrophe were to take place.I wish I could say, "you asked for it" but unfortunately the rest of us will be suffering along with you.

i have a hard time believing anything from a person that was governor of Alaska for 2 years of a 4 year term. i am an independent and i am in no way for the morons that the tea party has elected to represent the GOP. i live in Illinois and will be voting for the GOP for governor no matter who it is he has to be better than the moron we have now. i refuse to vote for people that say if my daughter is raped SHE MUST GIVE BIRTH TO THE RAPIST BABY. who the hell do you think you are to make that decision????? i believe abortion is used to often and should be limited but rape incest and mothers health should be off the table in this discussion. so to you the GOP nation please put people forth that we the independent voters can actually vote for and still respect in the morning.

"Joe Miller is the right person to lead this country" Where exactly would Joe Sixpack Miller lead this country ? Once again Sarah Palin open her wordhole and out come jibberish.

Murkowski should definitely run in the general election as a write in candidate so that she can effectively split the vote and take votes away from Miller and give them to the Domocratic Senate candidate. Her intent to win back her senate job will not happen, but her futile efforts will cost the Republicans the Alaskan senate seat and it will go to the Democrats. GO LISA!!

This is EXACTLY what We the People despise about politicians these days. They do not listen to us, and just plow forward with what they want to do, regardless of the will of the people. We need to stick to our guns on this, and rid the government of all of these career politicians that keep spitting on our will. Don't fall for it, Alaska.

Murkowski should know that mounting a write in campaign is quite difficult. She should support the Democratic candidate, who, like her, is an Alaskan native, unlike the transplant Mr. Miller.

Congrats to Ms. Murkowski for standing up the Tea Party, Miller, and Palin...and the guys who they work for and who provide their funding...the billionaire Koch brothers.

I really am sick of this woman.

But I LOVE her effect on the Republican party. She gives people new reason not to vote for their insane candidates in the general elections.

I will always take hope and change over fear, lies and hatred.

Crazy Sarah, and her side kick Crazy Joe are going down. Watch, while the Tea Bag Express and Lisa Murkowski eat each other, Scott McAdams will be the next Senator in Alaska.

Sarah Palin quit elected office in midterm, because she put personal interests ahead of public duty. Why is anyone listening to a person so fickle about keeping commitments?

the Conservatives are talking about the intrusion of government and taking back their country but I am here to say God said bless American and it is everyone's country.

She is attending all the meetings, conferences and still signing and selling her books she is definitely making money off these people. I don"t know when she has the time to raise her children, well we know what happened to Bristol without supervision.

Conservatives and Sarah are bashing President Obama but are just like the Republicans not offering any solutions. People we have to get out and vote and protect our rights.

Murkowski is dead on right. She was sandbagged by that creature in pumps, she was defeated in a primary that was a handful of republicon voters, and a miniscule part of a tiny state. She will actually win and keeping a tea-hadi out of the senate is everyone's patriotic duty.

And the pat toomey ads on this website are a disgrace. He is lower than whale crap attacking a decorated Admiral who valiantly served the US for 30 years in the armed forces while toomey first sucked as a short term congressman who got booted because he was so aweful, and then as a Wall Street criminal who made millions the way all Wall Street investment bakers made it....he is a scum bag tea-hadi just like palin, miller, odonel, rand paul and the rest of the glen beck crazies.
