(CNN) - Delaware Senate candidates Christine O'Donnell (R) and Chris Coons (D) have accepted an invitation to participate in a debate on October 13.
The 90-minute debate will be anchored by CNN lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer and longtime Delaware public television anchor Nancy Karibjanian.
CNN will televise the debate, which will take place at the University of Delaware.
O'Donnell and Coons are running for the Delaware Senate seat previously held by Vice President Joe Biden.
Excuse me but I think that President Obama admitted to using pot and cocaine when he was younger. And you elected him President. So why are we slinging mud at O'Donnell? A past drug user is in the White House so what is wrong with O'Donnell being in the Senate?
Angle, Bachmann, Brewer, O'Donnell, Palin. ALL of them ..... nuttier than a squirrel turd!!! Not to mention the collective IQ of one.
I love the way the left went after O'Donnell for her witchcraft comments of years past. I guess she should have answered that while selling pot and cocaine she also dabbled in the black magic voodoo and all would be forgotten. Being of a multi-diverse cultural background she decided to participate in the religious practice of Haiti during her highschool years.... at least they ate the goat at a BBQ.
Bet she is a "no show" whether she is there or not.
VERY surprising! We'll see if she actually goes through with it. I can see her asking Palin for advise. I know what her first bit would be..."Cancel, I would."
In any case, at least voters will get to see her answer some REAL questions. May be Palin should take a cue from O'Donnell and go on some these news shows and show us ALL how well informed she is. **snicker**
I love how people are hitting barry where it hurts...asking for support and substance. This is precisely why we need....to demand politicians take part in debates. It is the only way voters can see what their abilities are and what EXACTLY they want to do beyond their talking points and rhetoric.
Is it Ok to use your palm as a footnote in debate?
After all isn't Pallin her mentor and hero?
My crystal ball says... Christine will back out of the debate ....and start espousing her personal beliefs .....via facebook.... and twitter .....by Oct...12th because...she has to.... prepare .....for...... Halloween.
That's it. I'd check my caldron too, but I'm out of eye of newt right now.....
Let's see.. Wolf Blitzer ( I am assuming thats CNN) and Nancy Karbi-whatever (NPR). I'm likin' it already! These two are "moderating". So lemmee guess- Questions coming from- – – I know! lets have Ed, Chris, and Keith "formulate" the questions. I see blood splattering on the walls.
Isn't Pallin her hero and mentor?
Nuff said!!
Every answer to every question from O'Donnell will either be 9-11, "we the people", taxes, or big government. She is a person who never has held a real job, has no legit education (15 years working on her bachelor's and not paying for it doesn't count), and has done nothing in her life except self-promotion and running for political office. Nothing. She is for "family" values but has no family. There's a reason she's 42 and single and it isn't because she doesn't masturbate.
"Barry" is just copy and pasting from his fruit loop rightwing website. Don't bother to even respond. Oooh so now the media hates women and that's why they are picking on Christine. Sure keep drinking that Fox juice.
If I finish my book in time...I might just watch this. For a T Party person, she sure wants the government to control most of our lives....just say'n
Oh this will be good...
Bill, Bill, Bill............Russia is not socialist anymore...........hasn't been for 20 years...............but then almost every country in the world is socialist to a degree................and those democrats you call socialist would be so far right in the rest of the world, it would be pathetic.......c'mon, socialism is not that bad.........ask any senior citizen or veteran...........
So a Marxist is worse than a satinist? The far right not only hate their country, but do they had God also? Is the family values that gets jammed on everyone by the weirdo loudmouths?
Bill, do you even know what a marxist is, your FOX talking points are showing. I love how you true Americans are ok with electing someone who steals from campaign funds, but won't vote for someone who wants to give the unemployed benefits. Bill you're a fool!
This will be must-see TV. YouTube will surpass Google for hits as there will be so much stuff to download, they might have to start a new site. Getting the popcorn ready!
She will pull out just before the debate and blame main stream media for supposedly setting her up.... (sound like a page from Sarah Palin's upcoming presidential play book (or was that the past?)
I will be waiting with bated breath to hear how crooked Christine will help to balance the national budget and whittle down an 11 trillion dollar deficit, when she cannot remember to pay either her house note or car note on time.
Her explanation of what accounting principles she uses to balance her personal budget should be worth a couple of snorts of Apple martinis via the proboscis, while speechless with laughter!
wouldn't it be more appropriate on Halloween? 'boil boil, toil and trouble'
Coons called himself a "bearded Marxist" in the title of a 1985 college newspaper article, but if you actually read the article, it's clear that his friends called him that in jest and he titled his article to play along with them.
O'Donnell is getting so much attention because the "witch" comment is just one of many strange things she's said over the years. And truly, she didn't even get the facts correct, referring as she did to "satanic," which is part of the Christian, not pagan, belief system.
There's just no way to compare an interesting, self-deprecating article to a nutty throwaway comment on a comedy show. Let's ask O'Donnell if she knows what a Marxist really is. Or a Socialist. Or a person who doesn't fib about his/her background and actually pays his/her taxes. That last one might stump her.
Del. has a population of about 885K. O' Donnell won the GOP primary by about 4K votes, with just over a total 50K votes cast for both runners. She also spend $4.5M and Castle about $1.1M So don't get to excited about her yet. But her comments on her past witchcraft reminds me of Bill Clinton when he said he "smoked", but "did not inhale "; and the GOP did not buy it. So O" Donnell practiced Witchcraft but did not cast a spell or hex? is that what she is saying?
For the love of God – please make this a nationally telecast debate. If not, pay-per-view. I'd love to see this. Pretty please...
I am not from Delaware or very familiar yet with Chris Coons. I read his article "bearded Marxist" which he wrote when he was 21. It is about how young conservative working with the GOP became so disenfranchise with them that it was driving him to Marxist. It is ironic that the GOP is using this as an attack. He was a GOP member and they were so awful it was driving him to Marxisism.
Let's get rid of the two party system, make the U.S.A. Parlimentary Democracy. That would require proportional representation – which is long overdue. To insure legislature accountability, the correct model would involve some sort of (STV) system. An especially crucial reason for the adaption of a Parlimentary system: The end of the imperial presidency, with a chief executive accountable to the legislature and capable of being removed by a majority of the legislature, rather than a cumbersome impeachment process, we might not have to deal with presidential overreach with the new system.
