Inglis on losing to Tea Party, where GOP went wrong

Christine O'Donnell’s surprise win in Delaware is sending shock waves through the GOP. O’Donnell is just one of several Tea Party success stories, which some say is threatening the existence of the moderate Republican.

Republican Congressman Bob Inglis, who lost his primary in June to a Tea Party candidate, is now speaking out against the Republican Party. Inglis spoke to CNN's John Roberts on "American Morning" about where things may have gone wrong for himself and the rest of the GOP.

Moderates were chased out years ago. What are there now, 3 or so?

It's wonderful to hear a reasonable voice. And sad that this kind of seriousness isn't entertaining enough – few will pay attention to this kind of person, and giving reasonable people air time will only hurt CNN's ratings

Whaaaaaa. Whaaaaaa. What you libertards do not understand, is that you make us mad everytime you try one of your phony, elitist, arrogant analysis. So keep calling us names, we love it, it gets us more energized.

I am a liberal... And I regret that this guy won't be elected and lost to the Tea Party! This video is a clear demonstration of what is reasonable and what the GOP should be. I think he would have been one politician in the opposition that would bring some constructive elements to the debates.

I would vote republican IF there were more of them like him. However and unfortunately, republicans are using lies and fear tactics to drive people to the polls. They are squeezing the moderates and independents out of the party (like myself). I voted for Bush and now I plan to not vote republican this year and in 2012.

Appreciate Inglis mentioning truth numerous times as the majority of republican have forgotten the meaning of the word. They have thrown all honor and integrity away with their constant propaganda, lies, distortions, fear mongering and hypocrasy.
They have obstructed all progress, sacrificing the American people and our country all for the sake of trying to regain power and win this next election.
We do not need or want politicians leading our country that have goals of win at any cost, destroy our president and put Wall St back in power.
    They have totally abandoned us.
