Palin calls Obama 'Barack Hussein'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin and John McCain chastised their supporters in 2008 who used the president's full name – Barack Hussein Obama – in a derisive tone.

Now it appears the former Alaska governor did just that.

In an interview with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren Wednesday, Palin said the "lamestream media" is asking more questions about Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell's background than it ever did about "Barack Hussein Obama."

"Funny… that we are learning more about Christine O'Donnell and her college years, her teenage years, and her financial dealings than anybody even bothered to ask about Barack Hussein Obama as a candidate and now as our president," Palin said.

When a Florida sheriff who was introducing then-candidate Palin in 2008 also referred to the Democratic nominee for president as "Barack Hussein Obama," a Palin spokesperson quickly issued a statement condemning the remarks.

"We do not condone this inappropriate rhetoric which distracts from the real questions of judgment, character, and experience that voters will base their decisions on this November," the spokesperson said then.

Of course, referring to the president's full name is on its face not a slur. But critics of the usage have long suggested detractors who use the president's full name are doing so to suggest the president is something other than American.

Look who's talking. No body had even heard of Sarah Palin until the day McCain's group picked her. Talk about not being vetted. Besides Obama was no where near as radical as this second coming of Palin woman.

And using the term "lamestream media" really gives Palin a ton of credibility.

What a surprise. With the right raising fears about Muslims, Palin is throwing more gasoline on the fire. In Orange County, CA, hate crimes against Muslims and Jews have increased from the prior year. And unfortunately it will probably get worse.

I am old enough to remember that from the 1940's through today, 2010, one of the Republican strategies is..... FEAR. Calling President Obama....... Barack Hussein is meant to enflame the fear of the ignorant people who listen to this ignorant woman! Keep up the insults, hate, fear, slander, division Republicans......... it will backfire on you!

A public figure who calls the President of the Unites States, "Barack Hussein" as an INSULT, should be ASHAMED of herself!

In NOvember vote NO for the Party of NO!

  8. All the news that is fit to omit

CNN O'Bots, she is using the FULL name as he wasn't FULLY vetted by you in the Lamestream media, FACT.

She has every right to be angry, right after she got selected as VP a cadre of reporters descended on Alaska to dig up dirt but NOBODY in the LSM made the loooong drive to Chi-town and stuck a microphone in Ayers, Rezco or Wrights face, NOBODY.

When people are ticked at someone they sometimes use the full name, get OVER IT, it IS HIS GIVEN NAME.

Palin is showing her true colors. Bigotry is what the Tea Party is all about. When they talk about 'Taking back America' they are is essence saying that a black man has no right to be President... I myself am Caucasian by the way.

The sad thing iis a lot os people, egged on by the likes of Fox News, Beck, Hannity, etc. give voice to these ideas...

The woman acts like a 12 year old. Even is you over look the comment about our President- which we should not over look, the phrase "lamestream media" is childish and shows how out of touch she is. If it is the mainstream media- it mens it is what most Americans watch or listen to- the same group she claims to represent.
Then take that a step further- FOX is the most watched of the mainstream medis so she maybe be correct in the statement Lamestream media.

If a person introduces remarks about President Obama using his middle name, and doesn't use the middle name of any other president, the question then becomes whether they are prejudiced against Blacks or Muslims. Whether they are prejudiced has already been established by their own words.

It's okay if Sarah Palin (the dimwit) uses President Obama's full name. What's the problem? He is named after his father. The name "Hussein" happens to be very common (though not in this Country) and she can rest assured that our President was thoroughly vetted before he was even allowed to run for office. She is just too stupid to realize that if any nefarious connections were found in his past, the information would have been blasted all over the place (and not hidden by the "lamestream" media.) She is just desperate for more fear-baiting soundbites.

Too bad being stupid and evil isn't a crime because Palin would have a rap sheet longer than a lot of convicted felons.

I am not a Palin supporter but, I am tired of the drama with his name. The media always goes ohhh when someone uses his full name It's how he was sworn in as president.

I laugh every time I hear Sarah Palin speak about the "lamestream media. " It has been the constant attention by the so-called "lamestream media," and the way they focus on every word she speaks as if she were some intellectual being, that has kept her name in the news and allowed her to make tons of money!!!
