Palin calls Obama 'Barack Hussein'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin and John McCain chastised their supporters in 2008 who used the president's full name – Barack Hussein Obama – in a derisive tone.

Now it appears the former Alaska governor did just that.

In an interview with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren Wednesday, Palin said the "lamestream media" is asking more questions about Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell's background than it ever did about "Barack Hussein Obama."

"Funny… that we are learning more about Christine O'Donnell and her college years, her teenage years, and her financial dealings than anybody even bothered to ask about Barack Hussein Obama as a candidate and now as our president," Palin said.

When a Florida sheriff who was introducing then-candidate Palin in 2008 also referred to the Democratic nominee for president as "Barack Hussein Obama," a Palin spokesperson quickly issued a statement condemning the remarks.

"We do not condone this inappropriate rhetoric which distracts from the real questions of judgment, character, and experience that voters will base their decisions on this November," the spokesperson said then.

Of course, referring to the president's full name is on its face not a slur. But critics of the usage have long suggested detractors who use the president's full name are doing so to suggest the president is something other than American.

  1. A Secure American

Sarah Palin thinks she is slick. She is just like all the other insecure white people ... and not all white people are ... that blows the "DOG WHISTLE" ... remember how people can't hear it but dogs can.

In this case, the "whistle" is tuned toward those people that can be rev'd up into a rabid frenzy regarding "taking the country back" from those ... those ... foreigners .... like all those Mohammeds and Hussiens ...

We see right through you Sarah! Too bad all of American won't call you out for what you are.

Finally! CNN is back to trashing Palin. The world of news isn't right if CNN isn't bashing Palin on a daily basis.

That's the thing about extremists trying to hide in sheep's wool, they can't hide forever. Eventually her hate would come out. Eventually all those racists screaming in her ear would influence her thinking to that extreme even though I think she was always there anyway.

For those of us who aren't bigots or hateful "christians," who cares what Palin said. That's his name for Christ's sake. And honestly, CNN, this reads like a middle school girl's diary. That's the level Palin achieved, and that's the level to which you're stooping. It's dangerous for our country to have such a hateful ignoramus get so much attention. Please! Stop!

Maybe because Obama never said he dabbled in witchcraft and had his first kiss on a satanic alter? Or how bout that scientists are breeding a race of mice with human brains? She's an idiot...her group sought attention for her but apparently they think that the media should only paint a rosey picture of her rather than tell the truth.

Pain is to far right to ever be President of this country. She does well raising money for the Republican party. She certainly has the right to her view as this is a free country. As for using the Presidents full name I think that will become more popular in 2012. It was not used in 2008 but It will probably be used more and more in the months leading up to the 2012 election. A persons name is their name. He won't be running against John McCain this time. a

When does it end! He's been elected until 2012 – get over it and let it go. Let's concentrate on what's really important and the president's name isn't at the top of the list. As to O'Donnell..that's the Delaware voters problem and choice, not Palin or anyone else who doesn't live in Delaware. Let the Delaware voters decide who they want..not Sarah Palin!

Is she serious? I mean seriously! This President is the most vetted person in the history of American politics! The man wrote his own autobiography and had every member of the right meanstream media ridicule and twist his life story ever since he was nomimated to run. Go back to Alaska, caribou barbie.

I wonder why sarah palin always has to be racist, to get her ( no agenda) point across!!!!! I guess she,s getting desperate to bring attention to her radical ( no agenda ) canidates. Her race issues are very clear for all to see and hear. She just can,t cope with the reality of America having a Black American President! Her statements about our President, reminds me of what happened over seas, about 50 years ago. History tends to repeat itself! Beware Voters!!!!!!!

To speak of Christine O'Donnell and our President Obama in the same breath as Ms Palin did and with such disrespect to our President is appalling. It is even more appalling that CNN repeats FOX NEWS on its website. I for one would appreciate if you would stop covering this kind of rubbish.
