Palin targets 'damned lies'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin announced the launch of a new website Thursday, aimed at defeating twenty incumbent Democrats who voted for President Obama's health care bill and who are running in districts that swung Republican during the 2008 presidential election.

In the announcement on her Facebook page, entitled "Lies, Damned Lies – Obamacare 6 Months Later," the former GOP vice presidential nominee resurrects her claims that "rationing 'death panels'" are included in the health care bill and promotes the new site, which endorses candidates who support the bill's repeal.

Palin is unspecific as to what section of the final bill she refers to as creating 'death panels,' but does link to her original Facebook post which sparked a storm of controversy in 2009. In the post, she stated that the health care bill would create "death panels" that would decide whether people "are worthy of health care."

The claims caused a headache for the Obama administration and propelled outrage among the bill's opponents.

The section which critics of the of the original bill referred to as 'rationing care' and establishing 'death panels' was one which required Medicare to pay doctors for consultations with patients about "advance care planning," such as the drafting of living wills. Those consultations would include "an explanation by the practitioner of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice."

In a statement released in 2009, the American Medical Association, which endorsed the bill, said it "would not mandate that patients take advantage of this benefit."

"The new Medicare benefit would allow doctors to be compensated for such consultations every five years, and more frequently if a patient has a life-limiting illness or health status changes," the organization said.

TakeBackThe20, which is funded by Palin's political action committee  SarahPAC, features a map of the United States with crosshairs over the targeted districts and a gallery of the conservative candidates 'recommended' by SarahPAC.

This is not the first time Palin has used crosshairs to identify Democrats in districts that voted for John McCain in 2008. Following the health care vote in March, Palin received criticism for using a similar map and tweeting "commonsense conservatives & lovers of America, Don't Retreat, Instead – RELOAD!"

Death Panels, as stupid has that sounds they already exist. Not that it happens that often (at least that we know) how many times have we seen on newscast where an insurance company is refusing a treatment to someone who needs it.

I can't believe that the seniors believe Palin in anything. If ihey go private with social security or anthing else it will be like the post office always in trouble. The rich will get richer and the poor poorer. I am 86 yrs old and live on s.s. and if not for medicare I would have been by gone now. Medicare gave me my long life. Dummies must believe in death panel. Palin is money hungry. A good mother would not be gone so much not binding with the sweet son.

Oh Sarah!!! Keep it up. When the elections come around again we will have two options. We can either go back to the fundamentals this country was built upon...slavery, bigotry, segregation, etc or we can continue to move forward towards rebuilding this country to something to be proud of. I choose the latter. I really do wish this woman would go away. Or as many others have stated get out of the lower 48.

I am more shocked and amused with each passing day at how deeply embedded Sarah Palin is in the heads of the leftist idiots. It is simply amazing. They seem to wake up thinking about her, spend their entire day thinking about her, fall asleep thinking about her, and have nightmares about her. It is a form of mental deterioration on the part of the left which I find oh so delightful to watch......LOL

As a Canadian, who don't give 2 shanks about US's politics, please keep covering Palin, because it's funnier than any TV comedy we get up here in Canada. Keep the crazy lady in the public view, as there is nothing healthier than a good laugh, and she is as funny as hell.

The only death panel needed is the one to declare Sarah Palin legally brain dead. She demonstrates it over and over and over but let's make it official.

I hate that woman, and i hate John Mccain even more for introducing her to our country. He is, in large part, the reason for what is happening in our country right now.

Sarah - It is time for you to go back to sunny Alaska and discover those death panels. Maybe you can find them in a Polar Bear.It sure isn't in the Health Care Bill anywhere. But, what the heck Sarah, don't begin to let facts bother you. You never have.

It is great to see someone standing up and taking on the Washington Democrats on ObamaCare. It's a farce, slapped together in back rooms and misrepresented by Obama himself. But the worst part is not the end-of-life coverage issues, it's the fact that it really does increase medical costs, it really is not paid for and it really is going to cost American taxpayers much more than he indicated. We need to repeal it and come up with a bill that really does lower costs, provides full access to all American citizens and is costed out honestly, not misrepresented like ObamaCare has been.

PALIN, advisors are up on this. They are telling her that bad press, is better than no press. This woman has been campaigning for herself since McCain brought her along as his pick for Vice. GOP is worried as she keeps dividing the party, and dems are worried to have her mouth out there.

Sarah Palin is a DING BAT. Right wing radical. She wants to carry a gun on her hip shooting Democrats for target practice. She would like to go down in history as to creating a civil war between the left and the right. Believe me I to am from the left and am prepared for her war as alot of us true americans are. Democrat=True American. Republican=Europe. Where did our jobs go throughout the first decade of this century. Europe gift wrapped by the Republican party.
