Coons hits back at O'Donnell campaign ad

(CNN) –Chris Coons, the Delaware Democratic Senate candidate, has launched a website response to Republican candidate Christine O'Donnell's first general election ad where she says "I am you."

The website features a picture of O'Donnell from her ad and the words "Tell Christine O'Donnell 'You are not me.'"

The website also says, "In her new television ad, Christine O'Donnell says she is you. But unless you think the retirement age for Social Security should be raised, want to further de-regulate Wall Street, are against a woman's right to choose, think public schools should teach Creationism, and think homosexuality is an "identity disorder," she is not you."

O'Donnell's ad "I'm You" addresses her admission that she dabbled in witchcraft in high school.

"I am not a witch. I'm nothing you've heard. I am you," O'Donnell says in the ad.

"None of us can be happy with what we see all around us. Politicians who think spending, trading favors and back-room deals are the ways to stay in office."

She finishes the ad vowing to "...go to Washington and do what you'd do."

O'Donnell's campaign has not responded to CNN's request for comment regarding the Coons campaign's website.

- CNN's Kevin Bohn contributed to this report.

Delaware Senate candidates Christine O'Donnell and Chris Coons will participate in a nationally televised debate on CNN on Oct 13th. The debate will be moderated by Wolf Blitzer, anchor of CNN's The Situation Room.

I like Chris Coons and I approve his message... I bet it just tickles him to know that O'Donnell is doing most of his work for him.

@ Ray – try getting the whole story before you put your thoughts in writing. (This is the problem with a lot of people who give their opinions on here – they only hear what they want to and pay no attention to the facts.)
@dan smith – FYI, I am the HR person in my workplace. The rates this year did not go up any more than they have for the last 5 years. The only difference is that the Insurance Company is now claiming it is due to the new health care laws. On average, our rates have increased approx. 10 – 15% over the past 5 years – long before President Obama even announced he was running for President. From talking to others in my position and people who work in the insurance industry, the health insurance companies are doing what they can to scare people in to thinking the reform was a bad idea – hoping for a repeal. Do not let them get away with it. The insurance companies have been in charge for way too long and it is time they are stopped. As for the part about the company portion being taxable, that is at the discretion of your employer – not the new laws.

The difference between Dems and Republicans:

The Dems never thought she was a witch.

The Republicans really do think Coons is a marxist (despite the obvious sarcasm used in his 1985 thesis.)

"I am not a witch." O'Donnell. "I am not a crook." Nikon said. Who needs stand-up comics when we have these kooks? LOL all the way to the ballot box.

I think what Christine meant was " I AM EWE",... a lamb to be sacrificed on the altar.

This chick makes her look-alike, Palin, appear almost erudite....almost.
O'Donnell, Palin, Angle, Demint, et al: the top of the heap that the GOP has to offer. Heap of garbage that is.

"Tell Christine O'Donnell 'You are not me.'"
Nor does she resemble anybody on THIS planet that we know or don't know!

  12. 8 Years of having a drunken driver at the wheel put America in the ditch, why would working Americans return the keys to the crowd drinking at the same bar?

    You are NOT me

    1. I have never been to Pluto.
    2. I had a wet dream at 15
3 I do not hear voices in my head
    4. I pay my mortgage, and with money I EARN, not money that some donates to my annual campaign.
    5 I actually have a college degree.

Same reaction I had last night when I saw this nonsense–O'Donnell's witchcraft/satanic altars, reprehensible gay baiting, defaulting loans, dishonest use of donations, etc. are definitely not me nor our family.
