The Sweep: How did it come to this?

(CNN) - The House has just adjourned - a week early -to go home so Democrats can run for their political lives. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, ardent as ever, calls in a group of journalists to make her pitch about the productive Congress - and begins with a list of achievements (health care, Wall Street reform, stimulus, small business jobs act).

"I'm so proud of it," she says, sounding like a parent examining a brilliant report card, beaming.

But near the end of the session, the tough, pragmatic Pelosi - the one who has the uphill battle to keep her speakership, the one Republicans boast they want to "fire" - let something slip through her relentlessly upbeat analysis. The unemployment rate, she admits, is a tough reality - and manna for the Republicans.

She is proud of every thing we hate. She is proud of all of the money that has been stolen from hard working American taxpayers. Unbelievable. She is PROUD of it. She ought to hang her head in shame and resign.

If these Democrats are so proud of their "accomplishments" (i.e. health care, stimulus bill, wall street reform, etc.) then why aren't any Democrats up for reelection running on these "accomplishments"? Maybe it is because "we the people" KNEW they would be catastrophic to this nation and ADAMANTLY told Congress this is NOT WHAT WE WANTED!! You didn't care!! You told us to "go to hell" and YOU were going to make the decision on what YOU wanted and not what WE wanted. Okay, you screwed the country and your constituents and now you will pay the price.

We want a Congress that works for US!! We don't work for YOU!! So why aren't the Democrats up for reelection running on their "accomplishments"? It is because if they did it would reinforce that the people got screwed!! We will make you pay next month. Now you Democrats that are going to lose will have to find a "real" job. Boy will you be surprised to find out that jobs are NOT out there because YOU screwed up the economy so badly with these "accomplishments"!! Good luck finding a job when we fire your butts!!

How did it come to this Democrats; here is the answer:

    highest unemployment in 10 years
highest home foreclosure rate in 3 years
    higher taxes
    tax evading Democratic Party
    tax evading Obama administration
    the “Porkulus” Spending bill
out of control budget / no budget
    health care reform disaster
    Cap and Trade=TAX
4 terrorist attacks in the USA since Obama took office
Oil spill disaster in the Gulf

The Republicans can hang the economy and the health care reform disaster on the Democrats and we can vote them out of office. In 1994 historians say the Democrat loses was a slaughter; the 2010 and 2012 election cycle is going to be a massacre.

When Gloria Bolger writes – she puts all of her 'personal' opinions in her writings – you can hear her tone and it's a 'TURNOFF'!!! Her analysis is all wrong!!! Learn how to write without us hearing who you are FOR and/or AGAINST!!! Take some lessons from Anderson Cooper and you will be all right!!!

This is T'SAH from Virginia and I have no additional comments on this Ticker as the story is written – I approve this message!!

The failure is entirely the democrats, so many of us believed in the promise of change, yet the democrats went on a spending spree like drunken sailors. They utterly disregarded the will of the people, blindly passed bills without reading them and then encouraged class warfare.

Deals made in secret and pandering to unions essentially cost them. They got my vote in 2008, they will not get it in 2010.

The Dems have accomplished much in their brief time in power, but it will take help from the repugs, and American businesses, to make a significant change in the unemployment rate. At least we aren't loosing over 750,000 jobs a month, like we were in January of 2008. If repugs control Congress, all we will see is more tax cuts for the rich, and more jobs going overseas.

Ms Borger raises the question as to why President Obama gets little credit for his accomplishments. The answer is: THE MEDIA.

The right has its own propaganda network, lead by Fox "News" Network, but the rest of the gutless press follows Fox to the right in hopes of getting some crumbs falling out of Fox's ratings. The media gives no credit for the vast improvement in the job situation or in our country's GDP turnaround (the accepted basis for determining recession or not recession).

Most Americans, according to a recent poll, think the economy is worse off than in January of 2008, when it was really in a nosedive then.
