Latest Angle ad slams Reid for Viagra vote
(CNN) - What's hotter than hot? Whatever it is, that's how Nevada's ad wars can be described.
Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle's latest television spot doesn't hold back, accusing her opponent, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, of voting "to use taxpayer dollars to pay for Viagra for convicted child molesters and sex offenders."
"What else could you ever need to know about Harry Reid?" the woman narrating the ad asks.
The vote referred to in the ad was one on an amendment proposed by Republican Sen. Tom Coburn in an effort to derail Democratic health care legislation from passing last March. Coburn's amendment, which was for "prohibiting coverage of Viagra for child molesters and rapists," was one of dozens proposed by Republicans with the knowledge that if any of them were agreed to, the overriding health care reform bill would be thrown into parliamentary limbo.
Reid did indeed vote against Coburn's amendment, as did his Democratic colleagues. The health care reform bill passed and was signed into law by President Obama.
A Reid campaign spokesperson responded on Thursday.
"Sharron Angle continues her 'pathological' pattern of lying to the voters of Nevada in pursuit of her extreme and dangerous political agenda," the spokesperson said in a statement. "This ad is entirely bereft of facts, as documented by numerous independent fact-checkers and media outlets. This pathetic attempt by Angle and her handlers to distract from the growing national scandals surrounding her botched influence-peddling scheme and the extreme religious bigotry of her personal spiritual advisor is based purely on falsehoods and thoroughly-debunked claims, and is just more proof Angle will do or say anything she thinks will help get her elected."
The two candidates are locked in a statistical dead heat, according to a CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday. One in 10 Nevadans say they don't like either candidate.
Is there no low that this year's election will not sink to? This clown in Nevada is looking pretty desperate. Then again, it's Nevada, where humans were never meant to live anyway.

completely classless – it is really disheartening. how does she ever expect to be an effective senator after running a campaign like this. An effective senator, regardless of political affiliation, needs to at least command the respect of his or her colleagues. And this? Angle? impossible to respect...
This is dispicable. Do any sane people believe this woman? The dirt she has piled on Reid is not deserved. He is a leader who corraled the senate and passed some major legislation. I am proud of him. He doesn't showboat with loud talk and threats. He deserves way better than this. Just when you thought Angle couldn't be any more crass. Dems, fight back and get out there and vote on November 2. It's the only weapon we have–our votes.
I heard that the Senate did later pass legislation that banned physicians from prescribing Viagra to Republicans; it seems that when Republicans take Viagra, it makes them significantly taller.
Do you know who also didn't vote against Viagra to inmates? SHARON ANGLE. It's true, there's not ONE record of her voting against it.
Therefore I conclude she supports giving Viagra to prison inmates.

This was a ploy by Coburn. Angle is really grasping at straws. She says one thing and when she is asked about it she either says it wasn't what she meant or she didn't say it at all.

It's a real stretch to say Harry Reed voted to give Viagra to sex criminals, but truth does not matter to most Republicans. Who is more crazy Sharon Angle or Christine O'Donnell? I would say it's just about a toss up.

I don't think viagra should be paid for – for anyone... which this health bill does... insurance doesn't pay for birth control bills – women have to pay for those out of their pocket. So the men should go pay for their whoopee pills too.
