New poll: An unpopular Palin

(CNN) - One in four Americans have a favorable opinion of Sarah Palin according to a new poll out Thursday that measures the former Alaska governor's popularity.

Of the adults surveyed in the CBS poll nearly half, or 48 percent, view her unfavorably. But Republicans are more likely to have a favorable view of Palin than Democrats, 44 percent to six percent.

Although she hasn't ruled out a run for the White House in 2012, 64 percent of those polled do not think she would be an effective president, with eight percent of Democrats and 39 percent of Republicans saying she would make a good president.

But the numbers change when Tea Party members are polled. Forty seven percent of members think she would make an effective president.

Among likely voters, a Tea Party affiliation is a positive voting factor among 32 percent of Republicans and only four percent of Democrats.

Palin has endorsed candidates throughout the midterm election season and uses her political action committee, Sarah PAC to contribute to candidates across the country. She made a speech in Iowa in September, further fueling the chatter that she will launch a presidential bid for the 2012 election. Palin will team up with Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele at two rallies in October.

How could she be a good President? She wasn't even a good governor. In fact she quit the position. She's an embarrassment to our country. Too bad not to herself.

Do you think one of her advisers will be able to explain the math to her? or will we just keep saying denial is not just a river! Loud supporters does not equal a lot of supporters. Someone might want to explain that to her too!!!!!

    Who? Sarah who?
I'm sorry, I don't know of any politician by that name. Hmm, must be a private citizen.

But I do know of lots of democrat politicians who are in very, very big trouble come election day...
I know LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of them.

    What's that?
Your poll numbers are plummeting to historic numbers and not even the Child Emperor can help you?
    Quick! Run a Palin story!
Hold up a shiny object! Anything!
Just distract voters from the Obamaconomy!

Hey dems, you might want to re-brand yourselves as New Coke... it wasn't great, but even it was more popular than you are now!

Tick tock, dems, tick tock... I can see November from my house.

Your results tell me that you are polling many more democrats than republicans. 44% of republicans have a favorable view. At least 47% of Tea Party members approve. Put together those who identify themselves as Republicans and those that identify themselves as Tea Party members and you will have at least 50% at this point in time, yet your results have her at 25% approval? Nice try CBS & CNN. Still think there is no liberal bias in the media??

This lady needs to just give up any thought of a 2012 bid. You'll be wasting a vote. Another neo-con trying act like an outsider that has successfully hijacked a grass roots movement to further the neo-con agenda. No thanks.

And THIS is the GOP's frontrunner for 2012? Even when Obama's polls are low they're still way higher than her, and she doesn't even hold any office! L-O-L!!!!

Wait until she gets some wrinkles and the ones who adore her for her looks (the really shallow ones like Pat Buchannon) will drop her like a hot potato! Drop her way down to about 7% – who will be left – the truely insane and who will always think of her as their little "shining star". wink-wink .....strut-strut .....

I knew she should have stayed in office. She would have gained executive experience and demonstrated leadership skills, if she has any. Instead, she took the money and ran and ran and ran. People have to be smoking moose pooh if they think she is presidential material.

This poll STILL shows that there area a lot of less than brilliant people with the right to vote.
Sarah Palin is to Presidential as Silly Putty is to structural construction material.

Palin is the reason why the candidate for Presidency needs to have "qualifications" required for office. She is the most idiotic person I have ever ran across. She has "nothing" to offer the people of America. She has NO ideas about how to handle the problems we already have. She is a walking joke, but it's time to address the issues not make "small talk". She has no common sense and the answers she gives or moronic! I wonder what other countries are thinking about this "in it for the money" scheme she is doing well at? Thanks to all the Palin (robots) out there, she has your money. As they say, there is s sucker born every minute. You all have my sympathy (somewhat). I have to laugh...she is such a JOKE!

Eric, stop snorting Rasmussen's skewed statistical coke while Limbaugh and Beck give you a full-on happy-ending ideological massage. You sound like someone with an very smooth brain. The reality is, the only thing the GOP truly stands a real chance of winning is the House...and even that by just 4-6 seats. Most of the seats that are likely to flip are in districts that were tough for Dems in the first place. That's not a giant overarching policy referendum...it's merely "we got just enough useful idiots like Eric to believe our demagogue nonsense and go batsh-t crazy that we squeeked by with a majority." You want to talk about koolaid? Stop drinking the media's. They've been mainlining this "GOP takeover" narrative into the gullible American's psyche for over 6 months now solely because it helps with ratings. It's called sensationalism...wake up.

Please go away. This woman is a Category 5 Moron who does nothing but make disrespectful comments about everyone else but when someone says something about her she is all offended. She needs to stay in Alaska and take care of her own business. Who appointed her the expert?

hey all you dreamy eyed Repubsters with stars in your eyes and fairy dust around your shoulders – just keep dreaming about your fantasy world of total domination. The teabaggers are your down fall as they can't hide the chaos and self absorbtion you all are. For the rest of the thinking public we know a society built on "it's all about me" can't survive, and neither can a political party.
Dems polls go up day by day. November can take it's time because the more the public knows about your puppets the more you loose.
    Ah ....... sweet November.

The E-mail from First Dude makes it clear Sarah is picking "winners", there, in the expectation that when they "win", they'll back her as the Presidential nominee. She might have done better to pick her nose, which is altogether more likely to run well.

47% of tea partiers think she would be an effective president. Does this mean that if only tea partiers vote in the 2012 election, she will still get about what McCain/Palin got in 2008? (47%)

Just stating the obvious. The Tea Klux Klan and the Neo-Con's extreme right Clones are not very popular. Do people REALLY want to privatize Social Security, Medicare, Education and Emergency Services? NO they do not. People don't even realize what the GOP clones are peddling until a REAL news organization has the guts to ask them.

No wonder the GOP has to keep Sharon Angle, Rand Paul, and Christine O'Donnell in the closet to wait out the clock. Lame.

Sarah barracuda is an excellent example of how to succeed in this country by being an ignorant and outrages liar and an obstructionist. Her supporters are the naïve, the uneducated and the religious fanatics. No one with any common sense would want her in any responsible national position. She is totally incompetent.

And Obama has a disapproval rating of 53%. And that is without any bad press, blowing up nonsense like boo-gate, creating a false image and playing up his negatives while playing down his positives by the MSM. So what is your point? We know that if the media gave him one-tenth of the scrutiny they gave to Sarah Palin during the Presidential campaign, Obama would never have made it to the Oval office

I think a huge number of Americans don't like Palin because she pushes for people to work, stand on your own two feet, be tough, be patriotic, get an education, make your own money, make your own decisions, no big government, don't put our country in bankruptcy and don't depend on the government to run your life from telling you what you should/shouldn't eat to giving you money to live on. Most of these people don't have high expectations for their lives, for their kids, grandchildren.
