Boehner blasts Democrats in hometown speech

(CNN) - House Republican Leader John Boehner thrashed Democrats' handling of the economy in a campaign speech from his hometown Friday, framing the midterm elections as a referendum on another two years of the same Democratic policies or a GOP he vowed would get people back to work.

The Ohio Republican, who is poised to be speaker of the House should the GOP regain control of that body, told a crowd of supporters, "This speech is about jobs, because this coming election is about jobs."

Gosh, this country is going to be so much better off when Boehner gets voted out come November. He's part of the problem and not the solution. Come on, my fellow Ohioans, please get rid of this SOB.

And just how exactly will he create jobs? If tax cuts were the answer, as Boehner would have us believe, then we shouldn't have been in this mess to begin with...after all we've had nearly 9 years of tax cuts that were enacted by Bush and the Republicans, then continued under Obama's administration. But lo and behold....unemployment was already well on its way up under Bush at 7.2% in Dec. of 2008, before Obama took office. In fact, most of the increase in unemployment was under Bush's administration. Twenty months into Reagan's first term in the White House, unemployment was 10.7% – even higher than Obama, yet Republicans think of him as the Messiah. And, he didn't have two wars that he inherited, nor a unprecedented finanical meltdown. Time for a little less hypocrisy.
