Fiorina: Palin is qualified to be president

(CNN) - Carly Fiorina, the Republican Senate candidate in California gifted Sarah Palin a high compliment on Monday.

"I certainly think she's qualified to be president of the United States," Fiorina said in an interview on CNN's The Situation Room.

But when the former Alaska governor, who endorsed Fiorina in the primary race, visits California Saturday with Michael Steele, Fiorina won't be in attendance. Instead, she said, she will be campaigning with Republican Sen. John McCain at an event for veterans.

"Sarah Palin is here to endorse her book I believe and to raise money," Fiorina told CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer. "I am here running for office so we're all busy."

Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard, wouldn't say if she considers herself a member of the Tea Party movement.

"I see myself as a candidate running for public office for the very first time," Fiorina said. "I see myself as serving the voters of California."

During the 2008 presidential election, when Fiorina was an economic adviser McCain's presidential campaign, she said Palin didn't have the experience to run a major cooperation. And in subsequent interviews said John McCain, Barack Obama and Joe Biden didn't either.

Fiorina is in a tough race against three-term incumbent Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer. In the latest CNN/Time/Opinion Research Poll of likely voters, 52 percent of respondents said they would back Boxer and 43 percent said they would back Fiorina. The survey had a sampling error of 2.5 percentage points.

With that kind of evaluation of qualifications, Carly has just proven she is not qualified to be Senator. I wouldn't trust her judgment on anything. No wonder she just about single handedly brought HP to it's knees while shipping tens of thousands of jobs overseas and screwed the American worker.

Now Im SURE that I wont be voting for Carly. I question the decision-making abilities of anyone who thinks that Palin would make a good President.

Sarah Palin is anything but presidental material. We would be the laughing stock of the world if she were to be such.

Why am I not surprised? This woman would do anything to get elected. What she won't do is tell us how she plans to govern differently than her GOP colleages and tea party candidates. She has no clue.

Boxer is ahead in the polls, I guess Florina has to lie now to rally the insane/uneducated voters (aka Palin base behind her....

With this comment, Fiorina proves that she is not qualified to be a CEO, a U.S. senator, or a dogcatcher.

Maybe when she loses in California, she can be the vice Presidential candidate WITH Palin – Democrats need the help.

If she thinks Palin is fit for President, I know for sure I'm not voting for Fiorina – She must be nuts. Palin can't think for herself, so I will attribute that gift to Fiorina too!

Is this the same Fiorina who did not answer John king when he asked if Hewlett Packard lost 30,000 jobs while she was in charge? What qualifies her to say who is Presidential material?

I think that this shows the low mentality people stick together. how could any intelligent person see a quitter from all her elected jobs as qualified to be even a dog catcher? Ignorance is contagious!

Unbelievable! Fiorina did such a poor management job at HP that they paid her to go away. Believing Palin is qualified TO BE President of the United States is far more disillusional than perhaps stating that Palin is qualified to run for that office. Any idiot can run for President.....that doesn't mean they could actually do the job. Perhaps Fiorina has been trying out marijuana before it is legal.

Obviously Fiorina isn't qualified to be Senator if she thinks Palin is qualified to be President. Apparently the people of California are smart enough to see that.

She was a failed CEO and Palin was a failed governor/VP candidate. They have a lot in common.

Or to put it another way you do not have the judgement neccessary to be a Senator (from California anyway they expect more- try Mississippi)

I totally agree, she is overly qualified now that the bar has been set so low as to accommodate a Community Organizer that specializes in redistribution of other peoples money. Funny how it is the middle class that is seeing the most of this economic distress, lower class is living large on entitlements as always while upper class has enough stashed cash not to worry...but the poor old middle class worker is getting hammered from both sides. Divide and conquer, either by race or wealth, split the populous, Plan A Solinsky playbook..
