Fiorina: Palin is qualified to be president

(CNN) - Carly Fiorina, the Republican Senate candidate in California gifted Sarah Palin a high compliment on Monday.

"I certainly think she's qualified to be president of the United States," Fiorina said in an interview on CNN's The Situation Room.

But when the former Alaska governor, who endorsed Fiorina in the primary race, visits California Saturday with Michael Steele, Fiorina won't be in attendance. Instead, she said, she will be campaigning with Republican Sen. John McCain at an event for veterans.

"Sarah Palin is here to endorse her book I believe and to raise money," Fiorina told CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer. "I am here running for office so we're all busy."

Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard, wouldn't say if she considers herself a member of the Tea Party movement.

"I see myself as a candidate running for public office for the very first time," Fiorina said. "I see myself as serving the voters of California."

During the 2008 presidential election, when Fiorina was an economic adviser McCain's presidential campaign, she said Palin didn't have the experience to run a major cooperation. And in subsequent interviews said John McCain, Barack Obama and Joe Biden didn't either.

Fiorina is in a tough race against three-term incumbent Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer. In the latest CNN/Time/Opinion Research Poll of likely voters, 52 percent of respondents said they would back Boxer and 43 percent said they would back Fiorina. The survey had a sampling error of 2.5 percentage points.

Wow! If there's ever been a case that proves our educational system needs a drastic overhaul it's Carly Fiorina's comments. We the people?! We the real people of day-to-day America, struggling America, unemployed America would NEVER vote for sheer, incompetent Sarah Palin. She is not the face of real America but an opportunist who feeds the fears of the closet racist, aging, & scared baby boomers. She is the voice ofthose who pander to the worse in us. She is the voice of fear.

Carly Fiorina presented herself as a realist regarding the effects of globalization and has been a strong proponent along with other technology executives, of the expansion of the H-1B visa program. In 2004, as a meeting to "head off rising protectionism sentiment in Congress" Fiorina said "there is no job that is America's God-given right anymore. We have to compete for jobs as a nation.." This is a woman who slams Barbara Boxer in California and blames her for the lack of jobs in that state. Need I remind Fiorina, that when she was head of HP she was a corporate raider that left thousands of unemployed people in Houston when she gobbled up Compaq. HP outsourced hundreds of thousands of jobs overseas and now the past has come to haunt her. Her words "There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore" should send a chill down the backs of all Californians. She is anti-consumer and a crony for big business, don't let her lies and deceit fool you.She is more for outsourcing than keeping jobs in California and America, elect Boxer.

Of course she does. she also thinks she is qualifed to be a Senator.
So if not caring about how to keep employees, taking huge personal bonuses and alientating co-workers (she was asked to step down as Chairwoman!) then she is qualifed to be a Senator.
But what can be listed for Palin? Quiting her job as governor? Being investigated for handling of issues while mayor? Not knowing anything about foreign policy or even geography and taking almost 8 months to finally come up with an answer to the quesiton- what do you read? – If these are what Carly thinks makes a qualifed President, then I don;t wan ther anywhere near our capital!

As we were taught in Civics class, the actual qualifications as laid out in the Constitution to become President are few, you have to be at least 35 years old and born a US citizen.

The capability and experience to do the job is another story. Being mayor of Wasilla (pop less than 10K) and quiting as governor of Alaska (pop less than 1 million) doesn't give her the experience necessary to become the chief executive of this county.

I wonder if Fiorina would have hired her as an executive at HP if her only experience was running a VERY small business then quiting when she was hired to run a business a few times larger. Counting the loose screws in the Republican Party is becoming a full time job.

Well Carly Fiorina you obviously don't know want you are taking about, either that or you are as dumb as she is and that really dumb. Because SARAN PALIN is no way Qualified to be PRESIDENT of AMERICA. Just reminder want she did for JOHN McCAIN,people said he may have won if he didn't pick SARAN PALIN as he running mate. I was going to vote for him until he pick her. I sorry but the SARAN PALIN is dumb as a box of rock, she hateful and she about Racist as they come. In 2008 you said SARAN PALIN didn't have enough experience to run a major cooperation now you think she can be PRESIDENT. I hope the STATE of California don't think you nut case like they do SARAN PALIN,she not smart enough to be a dog catcher.

The fact that she said that, means she is not qualified to be in the Senate.

Thanks for the laugh, Carly. It made my day. Not only is Palin not qualified to be President of the US, your comment tells me you are not qualified to be in the Senate. Why? Because you are a liar. LOL

Carly Fiorina declares Sarah Palin is qualified to be President. Such poor judgement only proves Carly Fiorina is NOT qualified to be a Senator!

I guess that proves it... Carly is a poor judge of character and ability. She herself is a poor excuse for political office.

Well, that pretty well proves what a complete idiot Carly is. Palin is in no way qualified to be the President of this country. When I read the first line of this story I burst out laughing. I'll be so happy when November 2 gets here. But, this is just the opening act for 2012.

I am afraid such a comment will cast doubts in Fiorina's judgement and will hurt her own image badly.
