Rally shenanigans: Book thrown at Obama; naked man arrested

(CNN) – President Obama got the book thrown at him – literally.

In what was one of the president’s stranger campaign rallies, an unidentified individual in the crowd threw a book at Obama just after he wrapped up his remarks at the event in Philadelphia on Sunday.

The president did not appear to notice the flying projectile, which was caught on video, though it did appear to miss him by only a few feet.   It’s not clear what book in particular was thrown, or why.

In other strange rally news, police arrested a naked man who apparently was engaged in a publicity stunt for a website.

According to the Weekly Standard, the streaker was prompted by billionaire and social media guru Alki David’s pledge to pay $1 million to the first person who streaked at an Obama rally, so long as the streaker had David’s website written on his chest.

David told the Weekly Standard he would send money – in cash, not check – after he reviews the video.

Disgusting. Obama is an AWFUL president, but he is still our President. If you oppose Obama, there are 100's of ways to do it successfully without acting like a Left winger. Have respect for the country.

don't we have a law against people who enticed people to do unlawful things in exchange of anything taht has monetary value?

This incident is nothing worse than a cyber sex den that enticing women to get naked live in the camera in exchange of few bucks.

We know why this was done so why isn't the man that promised 1M for this stunt arrested. No matter he just said go naked and write the name of the website on his chest. Because the guy threw the box at Obama as to get the camera's attention the person who set the scene in motion is as guilty as the person who did it. If the Secret Service is not as partisan (right wing orientated) as they seem they will arrest the billionaire also. But since the =guy= is undoubtabelly a republican that will never happen. They do what the want and the Democrats get arrested.

I hope the Secret Service arrested the person responsible for throwing the book.

The next time it may be something more harmful.

At least the shoe thrown at Bush was in a foreign country! So how come we don't know the name of the book or the person that threw the book? With the technology available today, with a little PhotoShop help, the book Audacity of Hope throw by one of his disenfranchised supporters can be changed to any number of conservative books, like Sarah Palin's, Karl Rove's, or even yet unreleased copies of Bush and Cheney books due out at the end of the year, etc... what could have been another display of frustration by his own constituents then becomes a conspiracy by a right-wing fanatic. In the court of public opinion, the judge apparently felt the need to throw the book at Obama for his transgressions.

Just as someone should not have thrown a shoe at Bush, this person should not have thrown a book at Obama. The guy might be messing up our country, but show some respect.

Blame Fixed News for this type of idiocy. With their chronic distortions, it's not too hard to see how stupid and uneducated white trash that listens to their chronic garbage can be inflamed to do these utterly sad acts.

Rupert Murdoch should be considered the more immediate threat to the wellbeing of the United States.

This is the "Tea Party" at its best! What is going on in our Country when there is no respect shown for anyone!

Since the anti-science religious-fundamentalists in the GOP dislike books, it is fitting that they have complete disrespect for books by hauling them at our well-educated President.

At least he didn't throw a shoe; but it would have been great if he had thrown him some money!!

This is nothing compared to the atrocious behavior of the Republicans during last year's town meetings. Remember those disgusting displays? And Gov. Christie had the gall to admonish someone for recently speaking out towards a Republican candidate. At least the man was unarmed! Christie is such a bully!!

Let's see if we hear from all of those clever comedians who made fun of Bush for getting a show thrown at him. My guess is that we won't sincve it took CNN this long to even post the story for something that happened yesterday. A little slow compared to the shoe throwing story.

Shameful! Republicans and people like Karl Rove, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh are to blame for this kind of disrespectful behavior.

They play to the basest in human instincts, all the while proclaiming to be holier-than-thou.

All they've got in opposition to President Obama and the Democrats is lies, fear, hatred and division.

It was probably a constitution; hence the reason he had no idea it was thrown or what it was.

The first shot fired in a civil war is not always a bullet. In this case it appears to be a book thrown at our duly elected president by an opponent, which constitutes an assault – a capital offense. If the GOP wants to start coming for us, I invite them to come for me first. Ignorant cowards.

If it was a copy of the U.S. Constitution then it had better been a picture pop up book. I don't think he can read American History he only knows European and Middle East history.

I hope it was the US Constitution. The biggest joke played to the America like an opera is Barack Hussein Obama. I can see November 2 across the street.
