Clooney meets with Obama

(CNN) - Actor George Clooney paid a visit to the White House on Tuesday to meet with President Barack Obama and discuss his recent trip to southern Sudan.

Joining Clooney in the Oval Office meeting was Enough Project Co-Founder John Prendergast, who joined him outside of the West Wing after the meeting to talk to press.

Clooney said, "I think we're very impressed with how involved, at the highest level, this administration is and now our job is to try and continue to keep it in the press and keep it, to keep the light turned on for the next 90 days while we try and broker a peace deal, which is what they're working on right now."

The actor was heading to Capitol Hill to meet with Republican Indiana Sen. Dick Lugar, the ranking Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Why not meet with Clooney? His opinion will carry as much weight/intelligence with the President as many of the recently-departed cabinet/advisor/staff members.

Oh great, the Prez has the ear of celebrity but not that of the people. No wonder all his promises have gone to the dogs.

Thanks George Clooney for drawing attention to Sudan. Only great people with great minds go out of their way to show humane containment under difficult circumstances. You remind me of the great minds that helped tackle Haitian problems recently like Anderson Cooper and volunteer crews from all over the world. I am glad you were welcomed at the White House. You spoke with a very humane, transparent and forthright World leader-Barack Obama. Your wishes for Sudan will be realized.

While I applaud Mr. Clooney's involvment in good causes, I always struggle to understand why people believe that Hollywood-types are worth listening to on any topic off the big screen. While Mr. Clooney and his ilk are superb actors, I don't see the connection between acting and the level of intelligence needed to accomplish tasks like brokering a peace deal in Sudan. Mr. Obama would be wise to spend more time with real-life experts than those who play them in movies.

Actors really need to get a grip. This is not the movies George, we cant support every loser in the world. Its survival of the fittest. Their own Government don't care about these people, why should we?? Wake up and deal with the problems we have here at home. These actors truly are idiots.....

Who cares about "Clooney"? He's a typical leftist. The man typifiies the moniker "empty headed actor". He's traveling to the Sudan for what? Just to show how the left lick the boots of the Commander in Chief? Like any good Sudannese would be impressed? About the only ones who care about this, would be other Holly Wierd actors looking for a little press in the international media, desperately trying to find fame. We the PEOPLE, are not at all impressed, or even engaged with him or the "Dear Leader".

Um, so, what will happen? We engage in preventative wars, raping the lands of foreign countries. Why stop another entity from doing the same?

Great now we have an actor that thinks he's a politician who wants to talk to our president who thinks he's a star.

Clooney is a man who has lived his entire adult life pretending to be someone else, and getting paid for his delusions. What possibly could he have to say that would have any bearing on anything?

George Clooney is a pretty good actor..
but who cares what he thinks of politics or policy?
    Is this Obama's finest adviser???
    What are his credentials?
Probably better than Obama's, to be sure, but still worthless. Really.
