Gibbs calls for disclosure of campaign funding donors

(CNN) - Groups spending millions on campaign ads against Democrats without having to reveal their donors were supplanting the Republican National Committee and threatening American democracy, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday.

"They're going to impact this election ... and nobody knows who they are," Gibbs said. "I think that's a threat to the democracy that we have in this country."

Well how about first obama disclose the names of his contributors for his white house run, after all, that was tens (10's) of miillions of dollars he never divulged the names of contributors. They have released names in the past and the slugs from seiu and ding bats losers from acorn were picketing their jobs, homes and kids. Notice the losers of acorn do not have jobs so you cannot picket their job.

This is funny! Accusations of foreign money? How odd then all the money being spent by SEIU.

That stands for Service Employees INTERNATIONAL Union. I wonder if Democrats realize INTERNATIONAL means foreign!

It's probably really going to disappoint Obama, Reid and Pelosi when they figure out that most Americans don't get quite as excited about this stuff as career politicians do. We really do care about issues. In their little world, I am sure issues are not in the same league as elections. They seem to be avoiding discussions of the issues by trying to get us all worked up about everything else they can throw out in the media.

What's wrong with the Chinese buying our elections so they can continue to take our manufacturing overseas?

  5. Oh why not.......

As long as the Obama camp releases the information on all of their financial contributors during his Presidential campaign and also the primary's to defeat Clinton – sure. As soon as he does that – lets do it.

How about Obama discloses the donors names from his 2008 campain. I would suspect that there might be some "donations" that are not all together...let's just say on the "up and up".

... I doubt the GOP wants to disclose, per some sources, that an estimated $20m plus in "legal" drug cartel money has found its way into their Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California Governor and Congressional campaigns ...

Disclosure and honesty are valid requests. I personally would like to see Oblamas birth certificate, school records, and a complete, itemized list of contributors of his campaign donors who helped him purchase the presidency in 2008. I mean, really, 668 million dollars is a whole lotta money.

Does this guy think that Americans are that stupid? Isn't this the same administration that took in 400 millions in campaign contributions in 2008 and didn't disclose it's donors? Now he's telling others to disclose? This administration can't make a case on their failed policies, then tried to blame Bush and ran away from their own actions....now tries to claim illegal contributions from the GOP? Where were their cries for democracy, stollen when they took in 400 millions back in 2008?

What a bag of gas this loser is. It's bad when your record is so bad you have to bring out ignorance like this. Even Bob Schieffer who is very liberal thought the administration went off the deep end for attacking Republicans on this with no facts. Pathetic oh well the majority of Dems go away soon. Obama will be happy that gives him a chance to get re elected like Clinton did.

Since the republicans want to repeal everything. The Democrats should repeal this Citizens United law. Full disclosure should be included in this law. There should be limits on what can be donated to a campaign. That's the only fair way so we know that foreign money is not influencing or buying our elections.

Oh no.. people are combining their money for common cause and buying ads on TV

THIS ABUSE MUST BE STOPPED ... Only the Left's officially approved broadcasters may reach wide audiences.

Anyone... ANYONE.. who treats the defamation of the UCC by the Democrats as sincere allegations of wrongdoing is completely missing the real argument.

We need disclosure from the Democrats... who devised this latest campaign of defamation... who all is in on it... and who do you think you people are?

A shadowy organization spending millions of dollars to influence elections – does no one see what a danger that is.

That is laughable. Obama still hasn't revealed his donor list from the 08 campaign. These loons are going to lose and lose big on November 2, they deserve it.

Never mind that organizations that contribute to the Democrats don't have to report their donation sources either, have been doing this for years, and raise 4 times the money than the Republicans. That's okay because it's for the Democrats. This is the pot calling the kettle black. Non-profits have never had to disclose their funding sources and both parties know this.

Fibbs once again spouting off about something he can't prove...what's new? In a real administration could he actually rise above the position of midshift parking valet assistant...I don't think so!

I hope this means that he wants the democrats to announce all their donners as well.

    I can support that.

that said, if the law says nobody needs to disclose the donners, then the law is the law, I personnally don't like that law, so I support changing it.

Then lead by example Mr. Gibbs; have the White House release its complete list of donors from 2008.

Why, so far left liberal groups could blackmail companies that donate to the Repubs much like what they did to Target? The Dems are hypocrites and desperate considering how Obama used all the overseas donations to fund his Presidential campaign... Should we all begin assuming the donations to Obama were from Muslim countries and people that hate the US?? Dems – the same old Party of Hypocrites!!!
