Washington (CNN) - The Justice Department Thursday formally appealed a federal court ruling that struck down the government's "don't-ask- don't-tell" policy, requesting an emergency stay to block the judge's injunction stopping enforcement of the policy.
Justice Department lawyers say they want the federal court in California to grant a stay of the injunction, which would remain in effect throughout the appeals process.
If Obama wants "Don't ask Don't Tell" overturned then why is he appealing it? To say you want Congress to deal with it won't guarantee its end. If the Republicans take the majority and it's likely "Don't Ask Don't tell" Don't Go Away.
Obama doesn't want a judge to legislate from a bench. Instead he wants the military's review to come forth, and congress to repeal the LAW of the land......I agree with the President 110%
Who you love has nothing to do whether or not you could do your job in the military. Kristy_Ann_E via twitter
