Feingold opponent boasts, 'I've never been to Washington'

Milwaukee, Wisconsin (CNN) - It doesn't get more outside the Beltway than Wisconsin Republican Senate candidate Ron Johnson.

"I'd never been to Washington D.C.... until this election. I've gone three times just to familiarize myself and meet with some groups. But that's it," Johnson said.

A millionaire businessman running in his first election, Johnson is favored to take down three-term Democrat Russ Feingold. A CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released this week shows Johnson with an eight point lead.

Only GOP candidates boast about having no experience. Very stupid.

Never been to Washington? Sounds like a guy with no experience and no clue. Just what Wisconsin, and the country, need. A total amateur, babe in the woods, and trainee. He'll be eaten alive if he wins.

Another millionaire who has never been to Washington, yet thinks he is qualified to become the next U.S. Senator. Seems to be a lot of that going on this election cycle. Evidently, wealth has now supplanted actual long term experience in the eyes of the TeaPers. Considering the loss of jobs under the Bush years, one would think the right would be running away from these candidates, especially those who profess to be businessmen, yet ... if we are to believe the polling ... TeaPers are showering them in hugs and votes. Unbelievable.

Wahsington DC NEEDS people like this! Professional politicians, MOST OF THEM LAWYERS, have driven this country into the ground. This guy knows THE REAL WORLD and understands the implications of all this DC insanity. We need people like this that can say "No, this nonsense is going to kill jobs and here is why." based on his extensive business background.
Fools like Reid, Pelosi and Obozo don't have a CLUE what it is like in the real world.

This is something to boast about? How are you going to see the historic places and our countries sacred documents like the declaration of independance? There is more than just government there in DC. We need people to visit their represenative's offices and make their voices known. Saying that you haven't been there is a something to be proud of; just something to make you wonder.

Most of the Founding Fathers were also lawyers.
The dictionary definition of a "legislator" is "a person who gives or makes laws."
If I want somebody to give or make law, I want it to be somebody who knows law.
If I want somebody to open a factory, I want it to be somebody who knows how to open a factory.

    Dear 18 Days,
The sad thinkg is that you think what we have is Socialism. Travel to Northern Europe some time and see what they have. Ross Perot was a classic example of how a businessman mentality can't stand the heat in DC. You may like what 's on the stove, but it doesn't mean you can stand it in the kitchen.

Isn't this the guy that turned a blind eye to the pedophiles in the Catholic Church, as well as one he hired for his own company? Yeah, Wisconsin, go for it. Just what you want representing you in DC. If he turns a blind eye on the suffering of children, just think what he will do for you.

As a resident of Milwaukee, we are the 8th poorest city in the country the MPS system is a mess we need jobs here! Russ, Tom, and Jim Doyle have been in charge for quite some time. We need a change what they have been doing isn't working. Maybe Ron Johnson can help because what's happening now isn't working.
