Jeb Bush says 'you betcha' about Palin

(CNN) - Former Florida Republican Governor, Jeb Bush said Friday he isn't running for president, but would support Sarah Palin if she were to run.

In an interview with CNN Chief National Correspondent John King Friday, Bush - whose brother and father are former presidents - said he'd support former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin if she were the Republican presidential nominee in 2012.

"You betcha," Bush said in an interview set to air on CNN's John King, USA at 7 p.m. ET Friday.

And what kind of Republican does he think would make a good 2012 candidate?

"Big and bold and aspirational that has a positive agenda that will compare, I think favorably to that of the president," Bush said. "We can't just be against the president's proposals, we have to offer up compelling alternatives."

He also weighed in on the current race for governor in Florida, saying there has been a lot of "throwing mud back and forth," but not enough talk about specific issues.

"The election, up until now, has been… a lot of negative things and not trying to lift our spirits as a state," Bush said. "There's a cloud over Florida right now, as it is over the country so being specific about what you want to do, I think will be a good thing."

John King will moderate the Florida gubernatorial debate Monday night at 7 p.m. ET.

Jethro Bush would vote for her after all the whole Bush clan would. They like good ole boys and gals with no class, no education. This way they can hoodwink the whole country. Give me a break. He knows he won't win because the Bush name is tarnished, so he has to pick someone else on his level. You people give Sarah Palin too much credit. You are blowing this woman head up bigger than the goodyear blip. I can not beleve that America has so many dumb people in its mist. Go figure. They both love big bucks and she is definitely taking it all to the way to the bank. The poorest racist people in this country believes anything that the republicans say even after they have taken away their livelihood and dignity. See they do not know anything but factory and mill work which has been shipped overseas by the republicans, they have deregulated all laws and they still think that the republicans are the ticket, The republicans, hate gays, minorities, and poor people period. The tea partiers and GOP are working hand in hand. I can not believe that they are satisfied with ignorant people running for office and you know who I am talking about. One thing is for sure, they have succeeded in dividing this country. If and when the republicans take back Congress it will be a sad day in America, and those who voted to put them back in power please do not complain because you wanted them to take control again. Once they do they will throw all of you to the wolves, because you have helped them to keep America down. I repeat the devils in America are the Nutwing Republicans and the Racist Tea Partiers. God help us all.

So Jeff, by your statement, you look down on all the people on your list. I guarantee a number of people that fit within the categories on your list are by far smarter than you. Your comment shows your own ignorance. Actually you probably fit in a few of those categories yourself just from your statement.
You should do the Right a service, and stay silent, because you only perpetuate the negative stereotype Conservatives have garnered.

Even though he is probably the best BUSH of the bunch, could not take............would be so afraid his policies might be simular and AMERICA could not sustain another crisis like the one Dumbya left us.....We are still uncovering all the wrongs and deregulations that have killed the middle class. What is so sad about it, people like the Sara Palins of the world don't even have a clue.......

Anyone who supports Palin doesn't have the crediblity to hold office. Heck, she's pretty much destroyed the credibility of the Republican party all by herself. If you can look at an idiot like Palin and say "That's who should be running the country," then I can't take you seriously anymore. Your judgement is not to be trusted, because you don't recognize the world's most obvious scam artist, and you'll forget about qualifications and skills if someone just shares your religion. Palin is a litmus test for intelligence, and far too many Republicans are failing it.

bush senior wanted this jeb to run for president and all we got was the decider. The fact that this bush thinks and has the half a brain to say that the half term governor could be president immediately puts him in the stupid list of rethugs.
I wonder what she told him she would do for him and the way her "career" is going I can only think of one thing right now.
@jeff/AL- 80% to 85% of the population of the US hates the half term and we rather not hear from her every again. The idiots are the 15% to 20% who think she is worthy of any news time.
BTW – I am not a pothead, I don't bar hop but I do believe that it's a woman's prerogative do whatever she wants with her body, look up whas a socialist really is you sound like one, I support gay marriage because I believe that every human being has the right to choose who they are and who to marry, I am not just employed but have a middle level position in my company, I have a college degree and it didn't take me six years, you got me on the atheist (even though I do believe in a greater power), I don't believe in capital punishment unless it's for people like ted bundy and we are 100% sure somewhat committee a crime worthy of capital punishment, I don't sympathize with terrorists (like mcveigh/national and the teabaggers or other terrorists), I am not a racist nor a bigot (you sound like one though),I am all for freedom of speech but don't agree with the rethugs calling the President a witch doctor or nazi and then having their feathers ruffled when somebody calls them on "man up" or lipstick on a pig (which she is – sorry pigs), I don't have a gun but do know that most deaths occurred from domestic or personal violence because people have guns, our foreign enemies don't like us but most of the world think your teatard leader is an idiot! Who cares about the French.

Sarah Palin will never run for president period.

    Palin running means.

    Debates
    Questions from the press
    Scrutiny from her own party
    Reduced income
Scorn from the rest of the civilized world.
She is the staking horse for the extreme right.

Who ever said George Bush Junior was the intellectual runt of the litter. Jeb has set a new low

After 8 years of the Republican regime running our country and leaving us in such debt, how easily people forget.
Yet in less than 2 years they want to oust Pres Obama. His party has done more to help get us back on track in his short time then the previous administration.
Typical Americans, they want it all now. That is how we got here in our present condition. This regime has got us back on the right track, they took a bankrupt foreclosed country and are rebuilding it.
You don't build a house from the roof down, you first build a solid foundation.
The trouble with us Americans is we want instant gratifaction.

Yes! Palin should win the GOP nomination for president! Every liberal in the states should go out and vote for her to win the nomination for her party. That way the GOP will throw all its cash reserves at her and then she and thier money will get stomped into nothing. Sarah Palin can't win the white house so everyone should support her bid for office. If you want the Democrats to win you should support Palin for Republican nomination!

Seriously, Palin? This country really does have about 30% mental illness. Elect a person so grossly unqualified and you would ruin whats left of America. This country needs to find that one Statesman that will carry us another 50 years with leadership, innovation and enough guts to do what needs to be done to fix the country without regard to being a page in a history book which will only turn to dust in time. We need leaders who can lead, no inexperienced talking heads.

THAT'S IT! YOU HAVE JUST FINISHED ME OFF 'TICKER'. Jeb Bush said a lot of intelligent things, but your headline is
the idiotic "you betcha' regarding Palin. I'M SICK OF HER, I'M SICK OF THE THREE BLIND MICE, ie MOONEY,
STEINHAUSER, HAMBY FOLLOWING HER DOWN THE ROAD TO NOWHERE!!! I'm sick of her thick make-up,
her greasy lipstick, her squeaky voice, and YOU! Jealous? Hardly, I'm only jealous of intelligent women who can
think and put on their make-up at the same time.

Since George W, a government "by the people for the people" has become a government of the highest bidder with no regard to foreign interest profiting from the pillaging of the populace by a privileged few. Ignorance, lies, deceit, and greed draped in a counterfeit interpretation of the christian religion and a phony nationalism cloaked in self righteousness with the catch phrase "God bless America" are dividing and destroying this country. The results of the mid term elections may become the point of no return to the democratic principles this country was founded on.
