"Real Democrats of D.C."?

(CNN) - The "Real Housewives" franchise on Bravo may have some competition. What about the "Real Democrats"?

If the new ad, sponsored by GOProud, a gay conservative group were true, the show's title would be "The Real Democrats of Washington, D.C." and the cast would include Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Barney Frank, California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

"If you thought the housewives were dysfunctional, wait until you meet the real Democrats of Washington D.C.," the narrator in the ad says. "They're catty… they're arrogant… and they're in charge."

The graphics and music match that of the "Housewives" franchise that airs on the Bravo TV network, and even has a quote from each member of Congress, like the show does for all those housewives.

Jimmy LaSalvia, the Executive Director of GOProud said the ad will run on the Bravo and Lifetime networks in certain Massachusetts, New York, California and Hawaii Congressional districts.

"That's our target audience, young women and gay men," LaSalvia said.

Frank is an openly gay member of Congress, and Pelosi and Boxer pride themselves as champions of gay rights.

Puhlease. Another gimmick from the GOP lacking substance: "They're catty… they're arrogant…"

What hypocrisy and looks who's talking. GOProud conveniently overlooks it was their catty Fiorina who arrogantly tried to talk about that "all important" issue of Sen. Boxer's hair. Give me a break.

My nephew is gay and a Republican. It blows me away how he and the GOProud folks can back a party that believes their sexuality is a "choice" and an "abomination in the eyes of God," thinks they should be barred from teaching in schools, and would like nothing more than to round them up and throw them into concentration camps.

Oh, and how many Republicans have spoken out about the recent suicides by gay teenagers how were bullied for being gay or suspected of being gay?

Like so many of the Republican "base," these GOProud folks are absolutely CLUELESS that they are being used by the GOP to get them to the polls – and vote against their own self-interest!

How long has GOProud been around? Is this another front organization, created just for this election cycle to promote the GOP's agenda?

Check out their Web site; you'll see that Grover Norquist is on their Advisory Council.

You remember Grover, don't you? He's the one who hates the federal government and famously said that he wants to shrink government "down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub."

He's against Social Security, Medicare, public funding of schools and VA benefits.
He wants to privatize police and fire and de-regulate all industry.

Basically, Norquist wants to turn our country into a dog-eat-dog, third-world nation where the wealthiest few own and control everything.

His being on an advisory council for a gay group is just another ploy to try to turn people against President Obama and his policies.

    Don't be fooled, folks!

I think both Boxer and Pelosi are champiions of gays and they are hardly catty and arrogant. Yes, they don't wilt when attacked by right wing crazies...they are both strong, forceful women who take their poltical values to the floor of the House and Senate. I am proud of them!

Much too kind. "It should read the Real Criminals of D.C."
Those that steal our moneyand squash our rights in back room deals and shady legislation.

Just wondering, which party posted this ad? That's the real catty behavior. Time for the name-calling, confrontational, bad behavior in DC to stop. On both sides of the Aisle. Don't vote for people who use these kinds of tactics, regardless of party. If that means not voting, then maybe enough people won't vote that they can't produce a representative majority and the election will be nullified.

Hypocrisy is core ingredients to Republican-GOP Tea Party 'DNA'.

    FACT #1:
Republican-GOP Tea Party Hypocrites claim they want to lower the national debt, , , but the Hypocrites still want to add $700,000,000,000.00 (billions) to the national debt by providing tax cuts for the $Billionaires and richest 2% of the country.

    FACT #2:
Republican-GOP Tea Party Hypocrites claim they are for the American middle-class by keeping jobs in the U.S., , , , but won't pass the bill to tax American companies who ship jobs to nations using unfair trade practices that block U.S. goods and competition from American companies. Plus these same foreign countries that take American jobs also use virtual slave labor to produce below standard goods to sell back to America. (e.g. – contaminated dog food).

    FACT #3:
Republican-GOP Tea Party Hypocrites claim they are for freedom of speech, , , , but when President Obama gives a speech to school student to excel in academics, the Republican-GOP Tea Party Hypocrites do all they can to block the speech and falsely claim the speech is for Marxist indoctrination.

Pelosi, Boxer and Frank. I cannot think of 3 more inept and ignorant individuals in Congress. What a shame that they keep fooling their voters.
