O'Donnell threatened to sue radio station

(CNN) – Christine O'Donnell, the surprise Tea Party-backed Senate candidate in Delaware, threatened to sue a local radio station if it did not turn over a videotape of an interview it conducted with her.
O'Donnell's campaign later apologized to the station for the threat, WDEL reports.
O'Donnell appeared on WDEL's "The Rick Jensen Show" Tuesday, during which she fielded several questions from listeners and the host. Upon the conclusion of the interview, an O'Donnell aide demanded video of the interview be turned over to the campaign and destroyed because such videotaping had not been previously approved.
It was then, according to WDEL, that O'Donnell herself threatened to sue the station if it did not comply with the request. WDEL also says it later fielded a phone call from O'Donnell campaign manager Matt Moran, who threatened to "crush" the station with a lawsuit if it did not agree to turn over the tape.
WDEL's attorney was soon involved and told the campaign there was nothing illegal about videotaping the interview for later use on the station's website and added that such action is protected by the First Amendment.
Upon further investigation, WDEL says O'Donnell's attorney called the station to apologize for the uproar and threat of litigation.
Doug Sachtleben, O'Donnell's campaign spokesman responded Wednesday.
"Prior to the WDEL interview, we asked the show's host if the video camera would be in use," Sachtleben said in an email. "The host never gave a straight answer and due to the constraints of live radio, the interview began without the campaign getting a straight answer or granting permission for the use of the camera. That's what we talked about after the interview."

She is running for US Senate, but does not want to be videotaped. The sad thing is, even though she will lose, 45% or so of the Delaware electorate will vote for her.

Republicans and their lawyers! Always threatening to sue. Since Republicans are always bashing lawyers, it should be illegal for any Republican to be a lawyer or use a lawyer.

Boy, I'm so glad many of my fellow citizens are so ready to throw themselves and their families at the mercy of ignorance and delusion, to drag our country and its economy back into the Dark Ages. While impossible to know, I will leap to the conclusion there was a remark or two that did not endear Ms. O'Donnell to the electorate and this was an attempt at damage control – just guessing. Otherwise why care?
She needs a law suit so she can pay her upcoming rent. As soon as she loses the election, there will be no more campaign money for her personal bills and living expenses. What a joke and a money leech she is.
Sounds like O'Donnell's attorney is as unfamiliar with the first amendment as O'Donnell is.
You can admit to lying like Joe Miller of Alaska or act in this disgraceful and ignorant manner like Christine, lie and cheat like Vitter of Lousiana or John Ensign of Nevada or threaten violence like Sharon Angle and Boarden of Dallas Texas and you are still competitive in the Polls. Heck, they might actually win. These are corrupt even before they take office and this is a new low for our democracy. the People who are telling us they are going to change Washington for the better. People are so hateful of the president and the democratic party that they are willing to put these corrupt individuals in power. Wow! And they rile against corruption?
