Huckabee: Democrats' Pentagon request a sign of desperation

Lancaster, Ohio (CNN) - Democratic officials recently sought information from the Pentagon on nine prominent Republicans who could challenge President Obama in 2012, according to report by ABC News Wednesday.

Among them was Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor who mounted an unsuccessful presidential bid in 2008 but has since remained cagey about whether he plans to abandon a cushy Fox News gig to take another shot at the White House.

Huckabee called the revelation "flattering."

"It's better than it was four years ago when I was an asterisk," Huckabee told CNN Thursday after a campaign appearance in Ohio for Republican gubernatorial nominee John Kasich.

But he also cast the Democratic National Committee's opposition research effort as a sign of desperation as they brace for a "political tsunami" next Tuesday.

"They know they are going to get wiped out next Tuesday," he said. "They wouldn't be looking down the road in two years if they thought that they really had any shot at winning these races next week."

He compared the Obama administration to "parents who kept feeding spinach to their kids when the kids hated it" and said Democrats have given up all hope of moving their agenda forward after next week.

"They have pulled out, they have given up, they have circled the wagons, they are having prayer meetings and closed doors sessions," he said of the Democratic Party. "They are getting out the Kleenex and starting the crying, and they have done it to themselves."

Excuse me, but wouldn't that be illeagal ? Any politician requesting any type of information from Homeland Security, CIA, or the Pentagon. Anyone who holds proof needs to identify the culprits and the culprits need to be prosicuted. I'm starting to think we need to define the Death Penalty to crimes related to politics and voter fraud. Anyboy else have a better idea on on to clean up the cess pool ?

Mike Huckabee is full of himself. His record shows he considers women below men. Why would anyone agree with his bashing of the democrats? I don't believe a word this hypocrite says. If he runs for President and wins this country will become one that condones and even encourages that the Rich keep their money and ignore the needs of the poor and middle class and he says that you can put down and step on anyone who doesn't believe everything he does.

He is right, the Dems are going to get wiped out. They came to office on the backs of 'help the middle class' but in reality they have only helped the middle class become the new lower class. They are turning once hard working, middle class Americans into slaves who must beg the Dems to keep their unemployment checks coming. We need a government with the guts to stand up to Wall Street, and the know how to put the middle class back to work.

In case Huckabee has forgotten, the tsunami that hit this country economically in 2007 is still being felt by millions of Americans. I rather think it was the GOPers who circled the wagon and let America down. I've followed McConnell, Cantor, Boehner, and McCain. They have yet to accept responsibility of the economic crisis of 2007, let alone help make policy changes which have benefited any one but themselves. I very much doubt the next two years will be much different. Incompetentcy to lead seems to be a real downfall for GOPers. We'll see if they will be up to the challenge should their predictions of a sweep hold true.

Exactly, MIke – parents who feed spincah to their kids, even though they hate it, because it's good for them. Instead of the cotton candy he and his idiotic cohorts hand out. Freudian slips are a bee-hotch, ain't they?

Spinach ? Yes, the Dems have given us good food. Father HucKabee and his Flat Earth Repubs and TPers want to feed us candy, while Wall St. steals what is left in the pantry. Remember – Reagan Trickle Down Economics = Golden Showers. You betcha !

To continue, what Americans need is not bank bailouts, but that same money to be used as finacial incentives to build factories here in the US instead of abroad. If we had spent 700 billion to build high tech factories, that Intel, Dell and other high tech companies could use, that might get them to stop outsourcing jobs. Instead we gave it to sickeningly rich evil bankers who lined their pockets and refuse to lend it.

Mr. Huckabee let a criminal go from his jurisdiction who came to Washington state and killed 4 police officers. He'd like everyone to believe that it wasn't his fault, but, you know, he had to cut the budget over in his state... what better way than to let a known murderer go? This guy will say anything to stay in the limelight, like most of the other conservative candidates, as well. Saying that our system is broke is a complete understatement.

"They wouldn't be looking down the road in two years if they thought that they really had any shot at winning these races next week."

So does that comment go for Republican's during the Bush administration too? It would explain how they ignored their principals and spent like their was no tomorrow. I'm not sure about Huckabee, but I prefer it when my politicians look down the road 2 years and further. But yes, most can't see beyond their next reelection bid.

    -------------------------------------------------–
Actually, Huckie, we call that research, as in the gathering of FACTUAL information ahead of an impending event: the 2012 Presidential election. This administration is known for fact-gathering, and preparation. Both of these concepts is something that your Party appears to be wholly unfamiliar with. Your ilk relies more on creating "facts" that would make you appear to be the better choice in any given contest. Notice how well that worked for you in 2008.

Mr. Huckabee, why don't you put that sandwich back down (you had done so well!!) and let the brain rest, away from the Fox fumes you have been inhaling.

There is NOTHING improper in what the Dems have done, and it is hugely ironic that you use them as an excuse for face time on legitimate media sources. You guys should vet your own players a lot better-Palin's lack of stick-to-it-tiveness, Miller's lack of truthiiness, O'Donnell's lack of, it seems, any understanding at all. Get back looking at your own team-we sure will.

Sorry "Tax Hike" Mike, you'll never have my vote or become the prez. Turned us off with his holier-than-thou attitude in 2008. Stay with your news gig, Gomer.

Why is this any surprise? The democrats and republicans operate from the same seedy play book. Now that we see our Graet Change President is nothing more than another career lawyer politician, we can now call the party the DemoPublicanReCrats.

Time for a 2nd party to gain some power. For a change.

And this isn't a top news story why? Oh yes, b/c it's Democrats doing the requesting. If it was a Republican asking, the ACLU, NAACP and Al Sharpton would all be booked for a media blitz on CNN denouncing the move, but CNN tows the line when it comes to reporting the activities of liberals.

You mean feeding spinach to kids, which is really the most healthy thing they can do?? Or should parents let their kids steal their credits cards and go buy billions of dollars in junk food? Sounds like ole Huck is telling everyone that some of the things that Obama has done may not be pleasant for everyone, but it will eventually make the country healthier. Cheers to that......
