Boehner targets Obama on election eve

(CNN) – John Boehner, the House Republican leader, will take sharp aim at President Obama in a speech Monday night a day before the Ohio Republican will find out if he is likely to be the next House Speaker.

During an election-eve rally in his hometown of Cincinnati, Boehner will hit the president for his recent comments during a Univision radio interview in which he appeared to characterize those who disagree with Democratic policies as "enemies."

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have a president in the White House who referred to Americans who disagree with him as 'our enemies,'" Boehner will say, according to prepared remarks. "Think about that. He actually used that word."

"Mr. President, there's a word for people who have the audacity to speak up in defense of freedom, the Constitution, and the values of limited government that made our country great," Boehner will also say. "We don't call them 'enemies.' We call them patriots."

The comments from Obama came during the week-old interview during which he said, "If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, 'We're gonna punish our enemies, and we're gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us' – if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election – then I think it's going to be harder. And that's why I think it's so important that people focus on voting on November 2nd."

Mr. Bonehead and his republican colleagues are the American version of the Taliban. He and his party can go to Satan's residence.

The man who wants to be Speaker of the House attacking the President of the United States. Lovely. Anyone else sick of the Republican slash-and-destroy-the-country-hate-games? Why do they profess to love this country yet hate the people of it – and not just half of the people? I wonder if they hate their half even more because they're so easily used?

As I recalled, the republicans used the same tone to characterize anyone who disagreed with them during the Bush years.

  5. TSUNAMI WARNING: Expected loss of Socialist DemocRATS EXTENSIVE

Obozo has been the most divisive, partisan, arrogant Presdient this country has ever known. He has played every racial angle, every class angle, pittted everybody against everybody else in order to get what he wanted. And if all that didn't work, the DemocRATS just blasted it down our throats anyways. Tomorrow the American people get to throw it all back up onto the Socialist DemocRATS.

Obozo's speech about there only being one America was the biggest pile of horse dung ever spewed by a politican. Joe Wilson was dead on accurate... "You lie!".

Boehner is a loser. He's making his move now, when there's little probability that the GOP WON'T fail to gain seats and become the majority. It's safe for him to come crawling out from beneath his rock and not risk serious political damage. Where was he when we needed to get some real work done to help salvage the economy, deal with the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc? Evidently working on his tan and carrying on an affair with some lobbyist.

Boehner will just be a mirror image of his former mentor, Newt Gingrich. So much for progress...

If someone could only call you names and show you disrespect, wouldn't you think they were the "enemy?" If they were articulate in their discourse about how things should be different, one would maybe disagree but I don't think they would be described as enemies - maybe "opponents" would be suitable in such cases. The vileness that is thrown at this President is onconscionable. It doesn't solve anything.

Those few Republicans that showed their "patroitism" to fulfill their sworn Bible oath to the American people in a time of need were demonized by John Boehner and his buddies. If our military men and women failed to be patroits they would have been court marshalled and John Boehner and his buddies deserve the same. Boehner and his party don't need to lecture Americans on patriotism until they learn what it means.

Boehner is right on when he called Obummie out for calling people that disagree with him, enemies. Enemies are in foreign lands and maybe in sleeper cells since you, Mr Obummie, have chosen not to protect our borders. It is all about you, Obummie. You are a terrible president and will go down as such.

One question to Mr. Boehner who keeps asking Obama "where are the jobs"? What has he done for the great state of Ohio to create jobs in the last 10 years? Another question - where did he find time to golf once every 3.07 days (119 times) in 2009 when we (the country) were in the midst of a total economic collapse? Why was he meeting with Wall Street when the President was trying to pass Wall Street Reform? Why was he campaigning this weekend with a guy who plays dress-up in a Nazi uniform? This guy should scare the sensibilities out of every American - and he may be #3 on the list to run this country. Ask some questions, pay attention!

We will like these "patriots" to stop calling people who disagree with them "socialists," especially since these "socialists" are advocating policies that Republicans used to support (health care, cap and trade). In the case of health care, the Massachusetts health care plan on which Obama's plan is based was passed only four years ago. In case of cap and trade, McCain supported a cap and trade legislation two years ago.

Politicans are bought and sold in DC and around the country. There is only the party of greed and he who sleeps in the pockets of big oil, big business, and lobbists shall rule the world. Wake up people, there is no WE THE PEOPLE. We can only vote for the least of evil. Repubs/ Tea Party will end life as we know it with a Sharia law mentality, women will have no choices and only the rich and corrupt will have any life.
The Democrats have no back bone, Obama is a wimp and I am sorry I voted for him.
There are no choices out there, I have looked at each race in my state and I worry about how my family will survive this next election cycle, the coming year, and the next decade. I will vote, will any change happen, I don't think so.

Ahhhhh... Mr. Speaker Boehner... such a nice ring to it.

Anyone want to take 2-1 odds that San Fran Nasty Nan quits when the fact that she's no longer the speaker finally registers in her botox infested head?

Boehner has absolutely no ideas on how to rein in spending, shrink government or create a single job - at least on American soil. Anyone who talks about deficit reduction with his record has forfeited the right to address these matters with any degree of seriousness. Republicans were at the front of the line borrowing and spending to fund two wars ($1 trillion and counting), a prescription drug benefit for industry ($700 billion), and they refuse to talk about cutting defense or Social Security or Medicare. And now, while the country tries to recover from the worst economic calamity in 70 years they want their power back after doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to earn it. Is the average American more scared or stupid?

I rather doubt that as Speaker of the House *No Compromise* Boehner will be much inclined to push forward Immigration reform. Or eliminating the Tax Credit for corporations out sourcing jobs. Or pushing forward Campaign Finance reform. Or solving the Housing Crisis. In fact (setting all his bluster aside) Boehner is incapable of accomplishing much more than shutting down the government. Indeed, he has spent the past two years trying to achieve just that.

So now the president is calling American citizens who don't agree with him "Enemies!" This is just unbelievable, especially when he won't even call terrorists that! Sorry but that sounds like tyranny waiting to happen.

Delicious hypocracy: anyone ever hear right-wingers refer to those who don't agree with them as enemies? traitors? UnAmerican? Terrorist sympathizers?

Anyone remember when right-wingers like Boehner used to say that it was treason to criticize the president?

And all too many Americans just brainlessly buy it.
