Exit Polls: Reading the Tea leaves

(CNN) - How much credit should the Tea Party take for tonight’s GOP win? Exit polls paint a mixed picture.

Forty-five percent of independent voters expressed support for the movement, which is 2 for 3 in Senate races so far tonight. The older you are, the polls suggest, the more likely you are to back the Tea Party – and tonight was a senior moment. Forty-seven percent of those 60 and older back the Tea Party; the number for 18-29-year-olds was more than 20 points lower.

But, a majority of voters (56 percent) said the Tea Party wasn’t a factor in their vote tonight. The percentage that said they wanted to send a message in favor of the movement (23 percent) was just a few points higher than those who said they were trying to strike a blow against it (18 percent).

(Stay tuned.)

Well, so much for the experiment in socialism. Colossal failure and it fooled no one trying to blame Bush. If that's all you've got then these are the results you can expect, Dims. But will Obama learn from any of this? Absolutely, positively not. We've never had a president and dim congress that has been this tone deaf before. Tone deaf? More like completely deaf. "Can you me now?" Probably not, but Obama will be shown the exit in 2 more years along with the remaining dims in the Senate. Grade: FAIL.

Most of the tea party crowd would shrivel up and die without government's help. But that's different.

I'm more worried that the Reactionist in the Tea Party, will hijack the GOP the same way liberals hijacked the DNC.
