In Illinois: CNN projects Republican Sen. win

(CNN) - Republican Rep. Mark Kirk has won the Illinois Senate race, CNN projects, defeating Democratic nominee Alexi Giannoulias for President Barack Obama's seat. Democratic Sen. Roland Burris, who replaced Obama, is retiring. Projections are based on CNN analysis of exit poll data.

    I'm absolutely sickened over Kirk representing Illinois. Well, he certainly doesn't represent me or my family. What a slimy little person! ICK!

    Hmm...Bad loss for dems and especially for Obama. That's pretty much a slap in the face.

    everyone should take a look at Kirk;s list of donors and sponsors. He definitely got bucks from insurance companies and PACS as well as law firms. I wonder if he will help China's HSBC acquire the Northern trust Bank. This is really such a slap in the face for the honest, working person. Just another George Ryan is the making . .
