Major anti-tax measures fail

New York ( - Voters in several states defeated major anti-tax measures on Tuesday, acknowledging that their financially-strapped governments need revenue to provide services.

A trio of controversial tax initiatives in Colorado failed, as did an effort to slash sales taxes in Massachusetts, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. This comes amid a wave of anti-incumbent fervor that swept Republicans to victory in the U.S. House of Representatives.

We know from history that tax cuts and reducing the deficit DO NOT go together.

Reagan exploded the deficit as did George Bush and both sold independents the feel good falacy of tax cuts expanding government revenue – WRONG.

If taxes are going to be cut they must be cut from the bottom up NOT TOP DOWN. No more extra rlexes for the rich.

Government is like any other business. Never concede ground, keep growing, never cut anything because the ultimate goal is to be the largest business in the U.S. or state or city. And the most inefficient.

Its not about the tax. Its about the job. We dont care to pay tax if we have income. Big corporations are driving GOP for tax cuts for thier greed, importing skilled wrokers from India and manufactured goods from China..

I thought this was the reason why you people swept the dems out of power and locked the country down for the next two years and put a stop to infrastructure building and be a leder in clean energy jobs. Could it be a lie that we are taxed too much.

Wouldn't it be interesting to really study these races and see how much union chicanery, stuffed ballot boxes, programmed voting machines, gift cards, dead people voting and outright theft, the unions did on these and in Nevada.
