(CNN) - President Barack Obama has invited the leaders of the Republicans and Democrats in both houses of Congress to join him in a meeting to discuss what to do in the waning days of this Congress's term, vowing it will "not be just a photo-op," he said Thursday.
Obama wants to discuss the future of the Bush-era tax cuts, he said. They're due to expire at the end of the year, and Republicans and Democrats disagree about whether - or how - to extend them.
The meeting is set for November 18, Obama said.
waste of time......and if they do agree to extend the tax cuts ill be sure to give mine to the chinese consulate where i live and tell them that atleast this american is serious about paying them back and not just talking about it. I challenge all Americans to do the same but I wont hold my breath....its one thing to complain about the debt then it is to actually pay it off.....Right America????
I sure hope that Nancy Pelosi is invited to that meeting. RIGHT
