(CNN) - She handily lost her bid for the Senate, but Delaware Republican Christine O'Donnell says she's fielding plenty of other job offers.
Appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno - the Tea Party-backed candidate whose colorful comments rocketed her to the national stage but ultimately hindered her Senate hopes – said plenty of high-profile opportunities are knocking on her door.
"The offers have been interesting," she told Leno. "Anything from a book deal to a reality show."
But O'Donnell – who beat establishment Republican Rep. Mike Castle in the Delaware Primary and subsequently found little support among national Republicans – said she's more interested in hosting a program that keeps the government accountable.
"I am not necessarily interested in a reality show…I would like to do something like a watchdog-type show," said O'Donnell.
And when it comes to the possibility of mounting a fourth bid for federal office, the Delaware Republican said she isn't sure.
"I don't know if it'd run again. I'd like to keep that option open," she said. "Our country is facing serious issues. Whatever I do, I'd like to continue to advocate for those issues."
"How about being a pundit on Fox News?" Leno asked.
"I did the pundit thing and that's what got me in trouble in the first place," she replied.
A spokesperson for Fox has said the network has no plans to hire O'Donnell.
Maybe she can get a role in a new Wizard of Oz movie?
The American Dream! Be dumb with a big mouth and spew utterly false nonsense that a crowd of other similar fools want to hear. Then as, especially if a loser, wealth and celebrity become yours.
Why doesn't this surpirse me. Act like a ditz and you get all kinds of speaking opportunities, reality teevee shows, books, etc... gotta love the mentality of this country.
Great, another political lunatic who'll be made immortal by her crackpot views....first Palin, now this? How much worse can it get?
Of course.....you thought she would actually go away? She wont....just like her grandmother Palin, O'donnell is consumed with getting her mug into our culture. They will stop at nothing at this point.
The good news is that the line for camera time by freaks who demand their 15 minutes of fame practically circles the globe. There are literally tens of thousands of them. And one by one they march in front of us, expose their unflattering parts, and entertain us with seeing how flat out weird they are.
The next Sarah Palin... Lose the election and travel raking in the cash talking about it...
A reality show for someone who has no grip on reality? LMAO
Of course she does. America loves stupid....
This woman is milking any fame she has.
If she were a true leader, worthy of being a senator, she wouldn't abandon her goals of leadership the first time she loses an election, and go after book deals, and tv appearances. This to me shows that she is in it for herself, and that self promotion, and selling out is more important to her than any passion for politics.
We do not need people like her in congress, especially the senate.
I am a progerssive, but I really like what Rand Paul has been saying about what kind of leadership needs to go to washington, and kick some serious butt. He echoes my disdain for DC politics, and the do nothing, finger pointers who only pick up the pace around election time.
I for one am glad we dodged the bullet with this one.
Good grief! Are the networks going to hand out "reality shows" to every failed political candidate we have? First Palin, now O'Donnnell? Thankfully, I gave up watching broadcast TV about 20 years ago, but this is simply ridiculous.
Why is anyone paying attention to this stupid, stupid woman?
good lord! please stop it!!! the media helps to create these idiot people...we have enuf of your 10-20 daily articles on palin! we don't need this 'witch' getting on our nerves!
NASA is planning a one-way trip to Mars– A perfect job for you!
I would not doubt it, because in America you can be dumb and dufus and make millions. Americans are more interested in enterainment than intelligence and innovation. Americans want their president to be like the guy or gal next door even if their IQ is 50. It is disappointing that we as a people reward foolishness and crucify the ones who really try to make a difference!
Great, we've created yet another way to instant fame for untalented, undeserving people. Being a has been, or no body, with a sex tape is so last year. Now people can fail miserably at politics and then dry hump the media into giving them a TV show, radio show, or book deal. And I thought failing upwards was just for CEOs.
I'm confused – you lose an election, but then get a book deal or a TV show. What in the hell has happened to America? Palin QUITS on her state after losing the election, but then gets a book deal, speaking engagements where she doesn't have a grasp of the issues. Now O'Donnell, who hasn't had a job, lose a home (or almost lose it), lose the election, but then get a book deal or a TV Show – who's next, Alvin Greene?????? We are making a mockery out of our political system, while the American public is struggling everyday. Our servicemembers are dying everyday. And the only thing we are thinking about is who wins and loses in an election. WE are ALL LOSING right now. BTW – from one Vet to the rest – Thanks and have a great day!!!!
O'Donnell and Palin are jokes and if American women are going to be taken serious, we need intelligent and educated women and these two don't matchup. Women around the World who have risen to the top got there by education and hard work, not by just showing up on the stage. Read about the background of 11 women presidents around the World and do have one woman that measures up far and beyond and that's Hillary Clinton.
