Kyl: Don't consider START treaty in lame-duck session

Washington (CNN) - A key Republican senator cast doubt Tuesday on the Obama administration's chances of passing the nuclear treaty with Russia during the lame-duck session of Congress.

Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Arizona, who is taking the lead for Republicans on negotiating with the administration on the treaty's ratification, said in a statement he told Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, that the accord should not be considered before January, when the newly elected Congress is seated.

So... what's the problem here. This treaty started with Reagan but is now suddenly "dangerous". Folks, the cold war is over and has been over for a few years now.

This is all such political junk.

"Sorry repthuglihonk, you guys lost, the Senate is stil Dem and will stay that way, so what you want (in this case OBSTRUCTION) you will not get!"

Cute one ,Fake Sniffit...."repthuglihonk"? Did you dream that one up after licking some toads?

Anyhoo, I do agree with the sentiment (aside from the obvious attempt to put the word "honkey" in my mouth): this is just silliness and partisan political positioning. The GOP gets the lion's share of the elderly vote and the elderly lived through the cold war. Moreover, as the brain loses plasticity, plaques build up and senility sets in, the elderly often revert to believing they're living in the context of several decades ago because it is easier for them to dredge up old memories than create new ones. So, being dependant on a gaggle of geriatric cold war re-livers, the GOP will of course attempt to spread fear with the START Treaty Obama signed with the evil, recovering socialismaholic Russia...and, they hope, maybe score some concessions from Obama on the military cuts that really need to be made as part of any sane debt/deficit reduction plan. Can't have Haliburton and other GOP-puppetmaster contractors going hungry now, can we?

I'd love to ask people from Arizona what Jon Kyle has ever done for them. Seriously. All he seems to know how to do is play political posturing. We've got serious problems, and all these guys want to do is play. And here's to 2 more years of seeing nothing but gridlock, and political posturing. Enough!

Yet, according to Ticker, 3 out of 4 Americans want it ratified. So, who is "listening to the people now?" Not the
Pubs. This psuedo-earmark, NONBINDING vote is another example of how these people will continue to undermine
    America. Sorry yet?
