Dem says Pelosi should step down

(CNN) –Rep. Allen Boyd, a Democrat from Florida who lost his reelection bid, is calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to take her name out of the running as the Democratic leader for the next Congress.

At the party’s caucus meeting, Boyd said Pelosi is “the face of our defeat” and insisted that “new leadership” is needed.

Pelosi is expected to easily be elected by her colleagues as the minority leader later Wednesday.

She should stay. Pelosi is an excellent symbol of the arrogant nobility who make up the Democrats in the House.

Mr. Boyd=====Are you one of the Blue Dog Democrats, if so maybe that was why you was defeated.

I have to agree with Mr. Boyd. whether its fair or not, Ms. Pelosi is viewed in a very negative light nationally and it has hurt the party. The Democratic Party gains nothing by keeping her as minority leader. The Right have been too successful in demonizing the woman.

I agree, Ms. Pelosi needs to go. I have been a lifelong Democrat, and she is the face of our defeat. We need to look to the future and prepare for 2012 and a fresh face and ideas are needed to lead the way.

Who the hell is Alan Boyd? A loser!
Pelosi is soon the only democrat with backbone, guts and brains to stand up and fight for something.
The White House has obviously given up everything. It is sad and depressing to see. Obama is in the process of
losing about 50% of the people who voted for him, and I dont think anybody in the white house are realizing that.
    Except Michelle.
Hillary and Pelosi are now the only people who might be able to turn things around.
Thank God that the GOP only have useless twits like Bohner, McConnel, Palin, etc.
The USA is turning into the laughing stock of the civilized world.

I felt she should too, initially, but now I think we need someone with her "toughness" to fight these Reps. after seeing how they are going to behave. Like the last party of NO. Tired of that.

Agree....Pelosi is almost as divisive as Sara Palin, John McCain, Glen Beck, etc. She is a "my way or the highway" kind of person who often chooses the wrong road – mostly because she won't listen to anyone else. She has sabatoged her own party.

If Pelosi does not run, the republicans win. They ran more ads trying to bring her down than any they ever had. THEY KNOW SHE IS EFFECTIVE. She would be a fool to not run. AND ANY DEMOCRAT THAT WANTS HER TO STEP DOWN DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE CALLED DEMOCRAT. That's why crap like Schuler should come out of the fold and ADMIT he is a republican. They are what caused a lot of good bills to not get passed. WHY DOESN'T CRAP LIKE HIM RESIGN. We would be better off if a real republican was in, at least the country would know the difference. He is trash and all blue dogs are the same.

Memo to Ex-Rep Boyd: Part of being a grown-up is learning how to own your own failures. If the Democratic members of the House of Representative who won their elections feel they need new leadership they'll take care of it. You lost your election so you no longer have a say in the matter.

    Go find a job,

"Pelosi is expected to easily be elected by her colleagues as the minority leader later Wednesday." and the Democrat party is expected to continue to have issues with corrupt and unethical behavior resulting in their continued decline as a viable party. Will they ever learn that their leadership is one of the major reasons they lost in the last election?

Way to put all the blame on Pelosi. The entire democratic party failed... perfect storm to make change over the last two years and a complete and total failure by all democrats in office.

Time for Ms Botox to go. The architect of "deem and pass" should be held accountable for the Democrat slaughter that took place a couple of weeks ago.

This clown should take responsibility for his own defeat and not blame it on someone else. Just another wimp democrat not willing to fight for what he believes personal conviction.

And this Dem thinks Pelosi needs to day. She was demonized by the GOP throught the mid term election cycle. It's what they do. That tells me she was doing something right, personally. She was the most effective Speaker I've seen in my lifetime, and for that she needs to stay. When health care was on the line with Scott's election in MA, she was the only one who believed it could be done. We need more politicians like Pelosi in DC.

Perhaps he wouldn't have lost if he hadn't have abandoned Democratic ideology. Progressives won, conservative Dems did not. Most voters are as concerned with strength as they are ideology, and Blue Dogs are mushy on both.

She won't, her greed for power is too strong, just like Rangel. No matter how sorry they are (by sorry I mean no darn good) they will hold on until their fingernails screech on the blackboard. They don't even care about their own party. She will not give up, not even if she is dooming the Democrat Party into a worse situation in 2012. Go Pelosi!!

Why? What has Pelosi specifically done wrong? Be specific.

"Passed Obamacare!" meaning what? The coverage for children? The prohibition on discriminating based on pre-existing conditions? Forcing insurance companies to uphold their contract obligations? Making sure the terminally ill aren't dumped on the street? Which one of these things are people objecting to again? Maybe its the mandate...that's the part where we have to actually be responsible and pay for things. And Americans hate that.

That's just what the Democrat party needs, a weak kneed blue dog as leader, so when the GOP says jump, he's only answer is how high!!!!!!!!!!!
