Ailes: NPR 'Nazi's,' Jon Stewart 'crazy'

(CNN) – Another day brings another round of fun quotes from Roger Ailes, the chairman of Fox News.

Yesterday, in part one of the Daily Beast's interview with Ailes, the Fox chief said Obama's "socialism was too far left" for France and Germany.

Now in part two of the interview we see Ailes setting his sights on Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and NPR's recent firing of journalist Juan Williams.

Calling Stewart "crazy," Ailes said the popular comedian's career revolves solely around exploiting the public's polarization – the same charge, by the way, that Stewart makes about Fox News.

"He loves polarization. He depends on it. If liberals and conservatives are all getting along, how good would that show be? It'd be a bomb," said Ailes.

"He hates conservative views. He hates conservative thoughts. He hates conservative verbiage. He hates conservatives," a definitive Ailes added.

Ailes also tore into Stewart's recent "Restore Sanity" rally on Capitol Hill, saying "don't give me a social speech on the steps of the Washington Monument. Don't lapse into non-comedy."

But the Fox News chief saved his heaviest fire for NPR, which dismissed Williams last month after he said he felt uncomfortable around some Muslims on airplanes in the days after September 11.

"They are, of course, Nazis. They have a kind of Nazi attitude," Ailes said of NPR. "They are the left wing of Nazism. These guys don't want any other point of view. They don't even feel guilty using tax dollars to spout their propaganda. They are basically Air America with government funding to keep them alive."

NPR spokeswoman Anna Christopher told the Daily Beast that "we will let Mr. Ailes' words speak for themselves."

Doesn't Ailes remind you of just how desperate the right is to draw attention away from their TRIED-AND-FAILED policies?

All Ailes, Fox and their lackeys have is childish name-calling and fear-mongering. They rely on ignorance and hate – because their policies DON'T WORK!

    THAT's historical fact, folks!

I hate conservative and liberals. The only people that should be allowed to serve in government are independents.

Rockefeller just came out and said he thought Ailes should be shot for expressing such an outrages fact.

What a class act – name calling. I remember my second graders doing that.

No big surprise to know that the media is comprised of people who think differently. Use your show for your views...the others will use their shows for their views. The thing that pisses off the thinking public is when opinions are put forth as facts.

It's always fun to watch when the left has an exposed nerve aggravated. Just read the above to get a good chuckle.

Nazism, communism, marxism, socialism!!! Fox needs new propaganda talking points... "If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed." -Adolf Hitler

I wonder if there is a link between right wing conservatism and male pattern baldness.... this clown, Limbaugh, Cheney?

I assume that it was the article's author who added the apostrophe in "Nazi's"? Doesn't anyone proofread even the titles?

Wow, did this guy go up in flames or what? Here's a litmus test to see if you're an idiot: if you found one thing that Ailes was quoted as saying in this article to be truthful, U R N ID E IT.

This guy sounds paranoid in a way few people can manage to be even with drugs.
It's fox though. I suppose his sheep will nod emphatically and the other 99% of the country will ignore or get a laugh.

Wow though. They don't make weirdos like this guy often. I suppose that is how you get to be chairman of fox tho.

"Don't give me a social speech on the steps of the Washington Monument. Don't lapse into non-comedy."

Sponteneous and off the cuff, unlike Stewart's scripted sarcasm.

Let's see. Only telling people the viewpoint you want them to hear. Railing against other viewpoints. Donating money to the right wing politicians. All under the guise of a "news" channel, which should be an objective, non-opinionated service to people and not a pulpit for your personal viewpoints. This guy is so far from reality that it's scary. And he does need to read history because what he's doing today is exactly what Hitler did. He's more of a Nazi than anyone else on television, radio , etc.

John Stewart is Crazy but the zoo the Fox News is normal?
Based on that Roger Ailes is six foot tall in great shape, not short fat and ugly

This guy is NOT the Chairman of a News organization? He's the Chairman of the GOP Agenda. Fox news is NOT a news organization. Its a bunch of windbags, can you spell BECK, that vomit their opinion all day long. By no means are they a news organization. Jon Stewart is the only one who actually calls it like it is. Hopefull, Mr. Stewart takes apart this jerk Ailes on an upcoming show. NOW that's good TV!

You can't fix stupid! So spend their money like it's free, it's not like they worked for it. Do anything to piss them off so they grumble and die sooner. America is about change and republicans don't like that, they're fearful of losing their free lunch and having to work for a living like everyone else, paycheck to paycheck.

You know, Steward spends half his show quoting stupid things said on Fox News. His jokes literally write themselves. If Fox didn't exist, he and Oberman wouldn't have a show.

  19. Someone give this man a hug or a twinkie

I have to start watching Jon Stewart as I keep hearing about him from other media personnel who have problems with him such as Rick Sanchez and now Ailes. As for NPR, I enjoy their programming. I listen to it everyday. Calling NPR, "Nazis" is ridiculous. Should this man be running a network's news division? I don't think so. I smell retirement in the future.

If all it takes to get rid of a TV show host you hate is to do the right thing and promote 'getting along', you need to fire Bill, Glenn, etc for calling half the country un-American. And still nice to know that conservatives don't want to hear Car Talk.

And, like everyone else who hopes this naive man will actually read these comments, I would like to remind him that a Nazi is a right-wing extremist.

Why is it not surprising that a crazed right wingnut nazi would say this? "they don't want any other point of view" says that Fox chief? ROFL.

The corrupt seek power. The absolutely corrupt seek absolute power. Absurdly low tax rates for the ultra rich propels them there permanently.

I honestly and truly wish for once that the current government would actually BECOME the radical "leftist Nazis" (is that even possible?), storm in, close down Fox News with military force, drag Alies out in chains, and outlaw the Republican party... if only to show these idiots what TRUE extreme governments would do. Try saying these things to Hitler, or Stalin, and see where it gets you. THOSE are extremes, this is a democracy. The fact that you are ALLOWED to spout such idiocy PROVES it. Don't confuse the two.

I suppose republican/conservatives/Fox have no sense of humor. Look at the man's face. He looks like a Porky Pig gone sour. Fox News is nothing but conservative propaganda and it shows.
