TRENDING: Palin won't 'waste time' on Couric

(CNN) – If Sarah Palin does run for president next year, at least one high profile journalist will be forbidden access to the former Alaska governor.

Speaking to Fox New's Sean Hannity in an interview to air Monday, Palin said she wants nothing to do with Katie Couric, the CBS Evening News anchor who's line of questioning facilitated one of the most memorable political foibles of the 2008 presidential campaign.

"As for doing an interview, though, with a reporter who already has such a bias against whatever it is that I would come out and say? Why waste my time? No," Palin told Hannity of Couric, according to excerpts obtained by Time's Mark Halperin.

"I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism. And I have a communications degree. I studied journalism, who, what, where, when, and why of reporting," Palin continued. "I will speak to reporters who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the public has for truth to be reported. And then we get to decide our own opinion based on the facts reported to us."

In a series of interviews with Couric authorized by the McCain campaign, Palin stumbled over a number of questions, most memorably when asked, "When it comes to establishing your world view…what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read?"

Palin appeared unable to name a single publication – a performance for which she was much maligned - and later said she found the question insulting, as well as emblematic of a liberal slant in the mainstream media.

"So a journalist, a reporter who is so biased and will, no doubt, spin and gin up whatever it is that I have to say to create controversy, I swear to you, I will not my waste my time with her. Or him," she told Hannity in the interview Monday.

    thats too bad for SNL.
however, if she gives an any interview for any channel other than Fox News, we will get enough laugh (or pain, considering that such a dumb person is running for presidency of USA).

Another petulent potential Republican! Newt says who he will let moderate debates and how they must be run and now Sarah is already saying who she will not let interview her.
A REMINDER FOR YOU BOTH- YOU WILL BE INTERVIEWING FOR THE JOB OF PRESIDENT- YOU DON;T CALL THE SHOTS WHEN ASKING FOR A JOB!

don't waste our time. your 15 minutes were up two years ago. you're just plain stupid, and the polls show it. your party won the House with the votes of the un and under-educated, the ones that get their "news" from the likes of Hannity, Limbaugh, and Beck. you and your "fellow commentators" are frauds and have no business on the public airwaves portraying yourselves as FOX NEWS. stick to what you know best, shooting wolves with an automatic weapon from a helicopter. hope you crash.

The truth, of course censored and screened by Palin. She should talk with Hugo Chavez about how to control journalism if she aspires for office.

Funny...Palin is scared of Couric, because she actually asked her a question that required her to think. Palin has absolutely no business being in politics. Here is someone trying to "brand" herself in the media and with television, but must we remember that she couldn't handle being governor...thus she resigned. How is someone like this going to run this country. And you think this country is in trouble now...?

So, first Gingrich, and now Palin, refuse to answer questions from anyone who asks difficult questions.

A president must be able to deal with adversity and be able to respond intelligently to unexpected questions. If either gets elected, will there press conferences only include Fox reporters? Will they only meet with nations that are loyal allies who will never challenge them?

umm.... she couldn't answer the question! Not Couric's fault. Perhaps I'm mistaken but it seems pretty basic to me......

Poor little Sarah! Mean ole Katie asked her a "hard" question that she was too stupid to answer. So now she thinks she's going to "punish" Katie by not giving her another interview. I'm sure Katie is just devastated!!! NOT!

"I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism.".......What does that mean? I read it twice and still have no idea. Then to see if followed by.." And I have a communications degree.". She makes herself look foolish.

If Palin is so frightened of Katie Couric, one must ask what kind of message does that send to the likes of Achmadinejad, bin Laden or other world leaders?

STOP! Please ... stop covering her every move. If you don't report on everything she says, she'll go away. This only fuels her.

At least Katie Couric didn't have to go to five different schools for her degree. Yeah Sarah stay away from those gotcha journalsist who aske you what papers you've read. Follow Sharon Angles lead – you know where that got her.

Imagine the backlash from Fox News if Obama had said the same thing about Hannity or O'Reilly. I guess Palin the QUITTER can add 'COWARD' to the list of terms that BEST describe her.

I don't think she has any idea of how bad this will get if she actually gets the Republican nomination. If she thinks the critics were hot when she running for the VP, wait till she gets a load of them when she's running for the top spot! Holy cow, I can see the fur fly now and a sailing victory for Obama...believe me...this is what every liberal and democrat wants.

Typical Sarah ! Everybody else is responsible for her problems, except her. She is such an idiot. She still thinks the world is laughing with her instead of AT HER.

"What newspapers and Magazines did you normally read?" – Wow, now that is a tough hard hitting question!...She can just say..."newspapers are for the northeastern elites and those inside the beltwayers...us "Real Americans" don't read those!" Im not a republican but ...i do think Mike Huckabee, Lindsey Graham, John Mccain, Bobby Jindal, and any other reasonably intelligent public official could answer katie couric's hard hitting question....but i think she thinks here anti-intellectualism is some sort of endearing quality.

Palin will not run as a viable candidate. She will run to make money for speaking to her flock.

I'm really trying to understand CNN , you keep pushing this white neo-con agenda with Palin and republicans . Yet CNN has a love affair with Palin , a person who only talks to neo conservative news sites , isn't ironic that Palin does not allow for anyone to comment on her Facebook page or Twitter account , if she's so smart , then how come she 's scared to take comments and post from strangers , Facebook is a public site how come no one can respond to some of her nasty and vile comments that she puts out . And what's worse is that CNN is backing her......................BOYCOTT CNN , their becoming like FAUX FAKE NEWS !

Heaven forbid that one would have to answer question about what newspapers they read. What is the world coming to?
